* THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE---Shiv is done.

* In 163 tests Shiv has scored 11842 runs at an average of 51.71 with 30 hundreds and 66 fifty.

* SHIV HAS HAD AN EXTRAORDINARY CAREER.

* I believe Shiv should play the final test against England in Barbados, then he should announce his retirement after the Australia tour of the West Indies in June----2 tests will be played in Dominica and Jamaica.

* Right now Shiv(11842) needs 112 runs to surpass Brian Lara(11953) as the highest test scorer in WI history.

* Given's Shiv's lame performance in his last 5 tests I rather doubt he'll surpass Lara.

BOTTOM LINE:

* Shiv should retire either after the Barbados test against England or definitely after the 2 test Australia series.

* The man exceeded all my expectations---outstanding career---sad to see him struggle in he end---but we also saw greats like Tendulkar, Ponting, Kallis, etc, etc struggle at the end----it's called OLD AGE.

Actually, I was discussing this last Wednesday with my Cricket Group and I said this should be his last series regardless of how he does. He is the BEST thing the WI ever had.  However, the time has come for him to say Goodbye.

IT WILL BE GROSSLY DISRESPECTFUL FOR THE WICB TO DROP SHIV WITHOUT A FAREWELL TEST

* The great servant of WI cricket and most capped player deserves a farewell test.

* India gave Tendulkar a farewell test.

* South Africa allowed Kallis a farewell test.

* Australia allowed Ponting a farewell test.

* Sri Lanka allowed Jayawardene a farewell test.

* WILL THE WICB GIVE SHIV A FAREWELL TEST OR WILL THEY JUST DROP HIM ?

* You just don't drop a man who has represented you in 163 tests.

* Shiv should be given a farewell test in the Caribbean---that should be the Barbados test against England or the Aussie test in June.
