US-based businessman Marcus Brian Bisram who was charged with the murder of carpenter Faiyaz Narinedatt has hired a New York law firm to represent his interests.

An Interpol red notice has been issued for Bisram following a wanted bulletin that was released here and the laying of a murder charge against him.

A press release yesterday from New York law firm Helbock, Nappa & Gallucci said that it had been retained by Bisram “to handle his American interests and work in  conjunction with foreign counsel”.

“Mr Bisram would first and foremost give his

condolences to the family of Faiyaz Narinedatt. Mr Bisram is known in Guyana for his charitable work supporting education and law enforcement. Mr Bisram regularly visits Guyana on his Humanitarian mission. Mr Bisram denies the rumors, lies and speculation that have been widely circulated throughout the Guyanese community”, the press release said.

It added that Bisram’s attorneys have been and will continue to be in contact with and cooperate with Guyanese authorities and local counsel.

Stabroek News contacted the law firm to find out whether Bisram would be surrendering to the authorities here but the attorney handling the case was not available.

Bisram, 27, who is believed to be in the United States, was named by the police here as a co-defendant in the murder of Narinedatt.

Five other men, including Bisram’s bodyguard, have been formally charged with the murder. Bisram, police have alleged, procured and commanded Orlando Dickie, Radesh Motie, Diodath Datt, Harri Paul Parsram, and Niran Yacoob to murder Narinedatt between October 31 and November 1, 2016, at Number 70 Village, Berbice.

Narinedatt was last seen alive at a party in Number 70 Village that was hosted by Bisram. It has been alleged that Bisram made sexual advances towards Narinedatt but was rejected, which prompted him to order his associates to kill the carpenter.

It is believed that the defendants, who were armed with several objects, dealt Narinedatt several lashes about his body until he fell unconscious. His body was then placed in the trunk of a car, driven to the Number 70 Village road and dumped.

Bisram’s mother, Sharmila Inderjali, and another woman, Maryanna Lionel, have also been jointly charged with corruptly offering $4 million to a police officer to forego charges against Motie, Datt, Parsram and Yacoob, who were in custody for the murder, and Bisram.

How rich is this man? Not only he was funding charities in Guyana but sources indicated he was funding several India Indian minorities in the USA.

Based on what I read, very rich.

Investigators are busy digging up all the dirt about him, digging up all the dead bodies of the rich folks who he was taking care of as a home care aide, finding out how he amassed that fortune and how he used the charities to cover up and hide from IRS.

Pretty boy's sorrows have just started. Easy come, easy go. Rich lawyers will drain him dry. Then he'll spend the rest of his life in jail. Let's see how much makeup he'll put on in jail. Folks come here, then get too greedy. Some of us care not for riches but are content and at peace with ourselves.

Just like Trump he owns a few buildings one on Broadway in Mid Town Manhattan.

Does not that qualify a person to be a businessman?

Comment is free, guys, but let's be careful. We don't want Amral to get a lawyers' letter from Helbock, Nappa & Gallucci.

Yo rest yourself this is not Guyana.

None of the comments are not even close to being out of place.

Taking someone's life is a serious crime.  If he is convicted of this crime then he ought to pay dearly.  The victim has a muslim first name and a hindu last name.  This leads me to believe his mother is muslim and his father hindu. His facebook page (Bisram) portrays an image of kindhearted person who cares about people.  Too often we encounter people as such who are evil and self-serving. If convicted he should be punished adequately and severely

Hey man, that's more businessman-like than running a few falafel trucks in Brooklyn or contraband flour in Guyana!

Regardless of if he is gay or not or if he is guilty or not the man used his money to help other Indians. He could have put his money under his mattress like an old timer koolie man and pretend he is poor. But he chose to help others financially

Does this give him the authority to order his goons to kill an Indian[as it's  ALLEGED] because his sexual advances was rejected.

From what I read, he set up a foundation where other people contributed money, and YES ! so did Donald Trump. Marcus then made donations in his name, his foundation has over 3,000 supporters, perhaps you might know of some of his supporters.Donations to these foundations are tax write off. In Toronto there was a scheme, where you donated $5,000 dollars but received receipt for$10,000 dollars, this went on for awhile until the government caught up with the fraudsters.

OK, so if he did, what's wrong?  I never heard of the banna until this incident, so what if he runs an organization which collects funds and help out people in Guyana, clearly he has a following, nothing wrong!  Isn't it the the same model the Clinton Foundation operates?  BTW, I never saw any of the 3000 supporters complaining.  Or maybe you are the first?

Yea, we know of the tax write-off though I don't know of many average taxpayers who are driven by the tax write off.  In that case he had to file with the IRS and if you have fraudulent info, the IRS has a toll-free hotline, go use it!  And also report DT while you're at it!

That Toronto example happens here too!

That being said, if he is found guilty of the crime, then he deserves the penalty!
