Interesting times ahead after the choices are selected today as Super Tuesday.

Should Trump indeed become the candidate, it will be an interesting outcome at the Republican convention, in particular with the higher-level establishment of the party.

Most likely, it will be a divided convention and the strong possibility that there will be third/fourth republican candidates.

The more they "rally" against him, the higher he soars.  They are playing his game.

He could very well pull off a big historical upset by running under the GOP banner without their support and winning.  Then what do they do, deny him the presidency??

Indeed, Donald Trump can run either independently or directly under the Republican Party. However, either way, he will loose the presidential election to either Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders.

As a note, perhaps the latest statement from the prominent Republican representatives --  made a few minutes before I present this statement -- distancing their position against Donald Trump is of interest.

Trump will win nomination...but Republicans can choose and run another candidate in the general ...I think

maybe the choices will be Trump, Hillary and Romney for the general

If he does not get a majority of the delegates they can boot him out ( after a first ballot at the convention and he does not manage to pick up super delegates for a simple majority). He needs to win a few winner-take-all states to do that so republicans are banking on Kasich to win his state and Rubio to hold Florida to kneecap him. Today does not count for much in terms of delegate since even looser will get a proportionate share. It counts in terms of momentum.
