OK Folks!

The subject is MENS SHOES!

Women love to say they can tell a lot about a man by the kind of shoes he wears.

Listen! The Rev respects women, but sometimes they can be superficial.lol

Anyway gentlemen over the years what have been your favorite brand of shoes ?

Check out some of the Rev's favorites below---going back to my early days in Guyana to today in the United States.

OK folks!

That's it. Feel free to add to the list above. There are lots of other brands---some guys love Florsheim shoes.

By the way, that Silvano Lattanzi is a great shoe---they have a store on Madison avenue in NY---check them out---get your feet measured---treat yourself to a nice pair of shoes--they will last you a lifetime---mucho, mucho comfortable.

Who says your "rubber dinkies" don't count ?lol

Listen! Every footwear--every style--every brand counts.

Remember those black and white bata "yatting" boots we used to wear in Guyana ? Looks like this:

In high school you used to wear real shoes. Headmaster made you dress properly, didn't he?

My dad's store used to sell these thick Dunlop shoes. You could wear these things forever.

Aha! Now you're talking sneakers Bruddaman!

The Rev totally forgot about Dunlop!

Maaaan! Dunlop was the facting bomb for us teenagers.

Listen, there was a guy on regent street who used to import Dunlop---I forgot his name---I bought my first Dunlop from him.

You are 100% correct! A high quality shoe will last years, and even if there is some wear and tear you can take it to the shoe-repair guy--and when he is done with the repair job---the shoe is good as new.

With cheap shoes--any wear and tear you throw it in the garbage.

Every man should wear a quality shoe!

Actually a smart thing to do is buy two of the same kind shoes and alternate them.

I hope you do not wear that shi.t. Most of the time I still dress in throw back, urban grunge gear; original SWAT boots or ecosneaks or tims in my pencil bottoms ripped up stone washed kings jeans and bomber jackets or Mafia/ cowboy trench.

I do have the custom suits but to me those are monkey wear for the social parade that I avoid as much as I can until I cant.

Clothes to me must be functional and easy to wear

This is not the type I had. The ones I had was an olive green canvas top with the sole like a Tims. Weighed about 300 lbs if you get my drift.

When I went to GTI in the 80's there was a professor, Jones, who wore long boots all year. Never saw that man without a long boots.

Bruddaman- You knew Chief Jones. I knew him also, he was a queer character. he lived in England for some time and came back with Burnham on the plane after the Diana & Charles wedding. He used to rear pigs  and tried planting rice at MMA, that's why he always wore long boots. He had lots of ideas and at every staff meeting, he would suggest that everyone should be involved in planting rice.

By the way you can's stop the genuine Clarks, bought one form Chetsons in 2000, still have it in good condition. I am now into Florsheim.

Hmmmmm! Those are nice. I like them---good to walk around the home---they look super comfy too.

Uggs boots have been popular for years with the ladies--I know there is an UGGS store in Soho.

The Rev will have to check those out.

This is a new product they introduced about 2 years ago  They are for outdoor use, unlike most other men's UGGS shoes which are for indoor use..They are also fur lined and comfy and leather.

Yes. He was from Mocha. Everytime he was teaching the boys would pelt bricks on him. Tiny stones. After a while he got fed up so  before he start to write he would make a sudden turn around and shout "aha" thinking he would catch somebody. Him and Grant were two characters. Never saw Grant sober.

I wasn't in Guyana in the 80s, but kickers, bell bottom pants, and long hair were the rage among young guys in 1970s, especially after the movie Saturday Night Fever came out.

RE: RAJA

That name rings a bell--I believe that's the Guy on regent street that imported Dunlop.

What about the Silvano Lattanzi ?

The one on the right--that's the one the 'first lady' picked out for me---and it's custom made--best shoe I ever wore--have another pair in the black also.

RE: SALVATORE FERRAGAMO

Wall Street guys love that shoe----Salvatore Ferragamo is the brand of choice for Goldman Sachs Investment bankers.

Rev

PS. Oh wait--you said, "rocking"---maybe the Lattanzi doesn't qualify.
