Mayor Holland Swim Meet attracts promising swimmers

A sampling of the talented swimmers was on show Saturday when Linden Mayor Carwyn Holland Swim Meet was staged through the Torpedo Swim Club at the Watooka Pool.

Linden once the envy of swimming in Guyana was able to run off its second meet since its formation last year.
Mary Chung Phillips was the coordinator of the event which helped showcase some of the future stars of the sport.
Mayor Holland donated the trophies and medals which were handed out to the successful winners.
Those who were outstanding were in the 8 and Under Raphael Harding, the 9-10 category Romeno Daw, while for girls it was Jumia Bremner. The 11-12 champions were Devon Spencer and Annalisa Davis, the 13-14 the champion was Jasmine Thom, 15-17 champions Fitzroy Thom and Nicola Balman and in the Open races Nikita Fiedtkou and Damian Spencer and Maureen Johnson.
