...... live it well.

Our GNI family js definitely hurting with the passing of so many member loved ones and over the years some members as well.

Today we mourn with Amral, a person that I have never met in real life. However with our interaction here on GNI he has certainly won my respect. Chameli late husband and I spoke on the phone but the same as Amral we e never met but he was always pleasant. The same with the late   GNIers CLiff and LB, never met but had long phone conversations. Bottom line is let's try to be nice and live peaceful with everyone we come into contact with, life is short.

As one of my old Imaams used to say" Everyone has a ticket but the flight is not confirmed."

Wifey and I are on vacation but when Cham contacted me about the passing of Amral's wife, I felt very sad.

lOVE YOU MY GNI FAMILY!

* I have been posting on GNI since Jan 2012, and even though I have never met anyone I feel like I know some of the folks here. It's a nice family we have here.

* Sure at times posters cuss each other out, but the humanness in everyone comes out when we read and respond to sad news like Amral's Mom and wife passing or Chams husband passing.

* LIFE HAS A WAY OF TESTING AND CONFOUNDING ALL OF US.

I AGREE with you Bhai.  I dream of such a life.

* That sounds like EXISTING to me not LIVING.

* If you are around long enough you'll see your kids grow up and get married and have kids of their own, which makes you a grandparent. And if you are blessed with a few more years you'll see your grandchildren have children and that makes you a great grand parent.

* BUT IS THAT REALLY LIVING ?

* I guess for most people that is really LIVING.

* Oh well! To each his own.

living is what gives you the greatest joy...

Of course, I love to travel...see new places...do fun stuff...and hopefully I'll have the health and ability to continue to do such things...(i do plenty of that with the kids right now)

Ultimately, what gives me the greatest joy is to see the kids grow up etc etc....

* NICE POST.

* One of the best feelings in the world is knowing someone is happy because of you. Right now your kids are surely happy because of your love and dedication and hard work. Oh! Your wife also.

* Living is giving; Living is dreaming and achieving those dreams; Living is creating the life you want to live and living it; Living is different things for different folks.

BOTTOM LINE:

SOME PEOPLE EXIST; OTHERS LIVE.

That is exactly existing and not living but as you said each his own.

What about if you cannot have a child, then what?

I do not claim you as family so cut that crap out. I recognize you as a infective host  and  I have my bio-hazard gear on at all times in your presence.

Life is just a term over which an organism exist in the life-possible  construct we call a habitable zone in the universe. Most organism occupy that time with the necessities of specie survival and no other purpose.

Humans on the other hand attach to it meaning, significance and give it the status of an instrumental good. That it is elevated to such exalted positions is no more than our desire to think we are special and are here for a special purpose.

In the end it is but a time frame over which one happen to live and has significance only to us in our individual roles recognized by close friends and family. We have no special purpose.

I bet the lady and her progeny had to drag you up... what happened to the intensity thingy?

working on it still

My son was pissed at me...round trip should have been about 5- 6 hours...I held them back 2 extra hours...ankle pain

Understandable. My left knee has taken to annoy me after rides Doctor and their gismos say nothing is wrong...I tell them it hurts like hell  so I get a shot of cortisone and told to stay off it.  It helps but it is evidence that age is here to spoil my fun. I stopped eating starch and the weight melted away. Just start eating good and walk 3 miles a day.

CHECK OUT THIS NEW TREATMENT---IT FREEZES THE PAIN AWAY

The technique is called Iovera, and it uses nitrous oxide canisters to freeze tiny needles to minus 126 degrees. Once injected into the skin, the needles freeze the pain nerves and create instant relief.

I have had cortisone shots in the past. They reduce the swelling and temporarily reduce the pain. However, when the cortisone wears out, the pain returns. When the pain is gone, you have a false feeling that you are back to normal and you return to doing and overdoing. This it seems causes more harm and the pain to return. I think they recommend that you cannot have more than 3 shots in a 12 month period.

Rev,

I tried accupuncture and was amazed at the results. I have dengenerative discs in my neck and was treated with regular physical therapy with very little improvement. The accupuncture did the job.

* Acupuncture has been around for over 2000 years. I am sure it has its benefits. It surely helped you with your neck issues.

Going for that tomorrow (Thur) for same reason, I had this for 20 years now and just re injured after falling down my back stairs while carrying my PA system and also in August while on my way to Calgary (Western Cda) I stood up to let my daughter go by for the washroom but didn't give my head the room it needed. I came to an abrupt stop with pain, good thing I had my neck brace that I recently bought.
