Cortisone is bad stuff man. I will avoid at all cost, just like prednisone or any steroid for that matter. I swear on the accupuncture. Had it about 3 different times.

The technique is called Iovera, and it uses nitrous oxide canisters to freeze tiny needles to minus 126 degrees. Once injected into the skin, the needles freeze the pain nerves and create instant relief.

Rev,

I tried accupuncture and was amazed at the results. I have dengenerative discs in my neck and was treated with regular physical therapy with very little improvement. The accupuncture did the job.

i can come and kick you in the neck,it will do me some good as for you maybe, but i know your brain have no hope

Warria, I pity you for the garbage you post on this board. You always want to inflict some physical harm on people you disaree with. Is there one instance when you think you can have something positive to say? You must be one unhappy, frustrated and stressed out dude. I hope the best for you my friend.

I do not  have need for a freezing of any nerve endings. I have a hyper extended medial collateral ligament. I jumped off a ledge ( into a creek) with my bike, about six feet high and the soil underneath was loose gravel and the wheels did not bite so the shocks did not engage fully and I took a "hit" to the inside of my left knee. It is a shortcut we take all the time to get to the other side of the creek and bridge to another trail so I thought I knew it well. Maybe the rains piled up a lot of sand so the landing this time was not stable.

The Cortizone is doing fine. It helped with the swelling and I am sure it will heal in time. There is no meniscus damage and the cruciate ligaments are fine there is no physical damage in the MRI. I promised my friend I would train with him for a half tri in April ( mot my sport)  so my running part is on hold. I also cannot ride aggressive XC mountain biking single track trails which is what I live for. I have to take it easy for another 8 weeks.

Nothing truly bad about cortisone. It is naturally occurring adrenal hormone. It is advisable not to use it too frequently as it has consequences for diabetics and may cause a loss of strength of tendons.

Lose the weight and part of the pain will go especially if it is indicative of on set diabetic from the excess weight. Check your face to see it it is darkening on the sides for an indication or ask for a test. You may also be vitamin D deficient.  Ask your doctor and get the the cortisone shots if it will facilitate healing.

We are old so pain comes with it.

You apparently have some form of cervical stenosis. I would be leery of acupuncture, not because it is bad but because the natural hormonal stimulation may mask something really bad. I believe you need to consult a neurologist and a good orthopedic surgeon post haste if you have not done so. They will do some x rays and assess the state of your seven vertebrae up in the neck and possibly down the back. In any case, I am not a doctor so you need to consult one.

I do have spinal stenosis at three levels in my neck. This was diagnosed about 7 years ago. I have seen a neurosurgeon and an orthopaedic specialist. After the MRI, they recommended physical therapy(no surgery for degenerative discs). In 2007 I had physical therapy and it got worse. It was the physical therapist who recommended accupuncture. I do not have any problems with my neck since then. I had a couple surgeries in my lower back(L4-5). As with back surgeries, you get worse after each surgery(no more surgeries there). I have had accupuncture for my lower back pain. So far the pain is very minimal. As we get older, the discs will start to bulge.

Nerve pain is the worse pain you can experience. I am 5'6" and weigh between 135-140 lbs, never weighed more than 140 lbs. So weight had nothing to do with this. After getting married, I got spoiled and lazy. Sitting down all day doesn't help either.

We all like to eat a lot of rice. Don't forget about the roti also. Stay away from fried foods also.

The only fast food I eat is from subway. Look out for the french fries. I don't eat red meat either.

It is all a matter of your over reliance on carbs. Reduce the carbs; get rid of the rotie, rice and bread an your fight is over. In a month you would have lost the weight. I advise walking also. I walk or run every day as a warm up for the day.

Go on line, download  the map my ride app for the android or iphone. use it with the feedback on so you can get real time reports on how you are doing. Try for a 17 minute mile and you will see how quickly the weight falls off. I am back to 32 waist size and I used to be 36.

BTW: the app covers biking, walking,  running,  hiking so you do not have to worry about the name. Don't worry about all the gismos they want you attached if you just walk. You can use your old heart monitor from the polar watches with the phone if you care but it does not matter. In time get the fitbit or any of the exercise watches that interface with the phone and give you the telemetry.

If you burn about 600 calories in the walk and another 400 in your other exercise a day you will have all your old abs back in no time. Seeing the results plus feeling great is going to motivate you. Take the grind for a week and after that it will be fun.

* Looks like you have a food addiction problem.

* Food addiction is a serious problem for millions of people.

* You can exercise from now until thy kingdom come if you have a food addition problem you will not lose weight.

* Join the PPP and ask Ramotar about his gastric bypass surgery. The man lost 50 pounds in the past year.

You are silly. No medical facility in their right mind would permit him to do a gastric bypass. He can lose the weight he has in around 5 months to get him within the range of a normal BMI. He works our so he is doing fine already. He simply has to manage his caloric intake and reducing carbs goes a long way to that end.

Ray. leave me a note in PM  and I will let you talk to my biking buddy who is an exercise physiologist so he can get u on a program to drop the weight. I will get together some vegetarian cookbooks for you so you can create a good meal plan. My friend can help you t here as well. He is vegan and west Indian. We are presently training for a half tri for late spring. You can join us in the training.

The app allows us to watch your workouts output in real time and we can encourage you if you include us on its feedback.

* He can go to Mexico. They'll do the gastric bypass.

* But you are right

* Judging from that photo---Ray doesn't need gastric bypass----he just needs some discipline.

* By the way, it's the waist size that is more important than weight.

* You mentioned you dropped from 36 to 32----excellent!

the treadmill is fine. However, walk the 'hood. It makes the walk interesting and makes sure you cannot bail before completing your goals. Do it 3 times a week...do some weights or the machines to work the back and the abs to start and stay off the carbs...or the ice cream and sodas. Just tough it out for a couple of weeks. The results will be your motivation. Plus when you workout, you do not crave the bad things.

I said all there is to say there. You are preoccupied with a conclusion that is patently false if one is to take your heading of the thread as fact.

Orgasms are a culmination of the brain in a proper state flooding the body with oxytocin. In short, the sex organs may well be looked at as mere input devices. The output source is the brain.

BTW input sources are  not limited to the clitoris as you suggest the study concludes. The skin, the lips the tits behind etc all have to be in resonance for the happy ending to occur!

I over and done with this since you cannot contribute anything new.
