At the halfway state of the Individual category of the 2017 Junior CASA tournament in Guyana, arch rivals, 12 times defending team champions Guyana and Barbados were locked in an intriguing battle and were even-Stevens after a day and a half of pulsating action at the Georgetown Club and the National Racquet Centre yesterday morning.

Guyana’s Coach, Carl Ince, said this year’s tournament is living up to expectations so far with Guyana’s biggest challenge again coming from Barbados.

“Taylor Fernandes, Ben Mekdeci and Shomari Wilshire all won their match last night (Sunday night) and a lot will depend on how they perform for the rest of the tournament if Guyana are to win the championship again,” Ince added.
