I mentioned this once before somewhere but apparently it bears repeating.
The Representation of the People Act allows two parties to be in pre-election Coalition under two formulas.
1. One Single List (as currently proposed in "APNU+AFC")
or
2. A "Joinder of Lists" of Two Separate Party Lists
The Coalition should opt to file as a "Joinder of Lists" so that APNU and AFC will appear as two separate entities on the ballot but GECOM is mandated to count them as one party in the tabulation of results.
This is needed because many Guyanese Indians may want the AFC to succeed but they just don't want to physically place an X next to "APNU." APNU ain't less "PNC" because it has different letters to Indos.
Accomodate the Guyanese people as they are. Don't try and demand they behave as you would like them.
