My dear man, I hope you head for the hills and leave us.

Its over compensation and muddled airport security, port security etc is its Achilles heel. It is not as that paranoid, conspiracy theorist above suggests attempt at  the making of fascist state.

Further, Congress has more input here than the president since they are the purse. A president Romney has no plans to change the purpose or intend or the laws covered by Homeland. He aims at giving it more authority to arrest suspects, and illegals etc while being unwilling to reform immigration soon. On that end Obama may be the one who is attempting to transform Homeland.

If it is your conclusion that it is irreversible then split for somewhere else more promising. Intellectual capital is like money and can move so no one is stopping you.

Americans are among the most resilient people on the planet. I like my chances here and is quite certain that if ever we are to be all that we can be it will happen here. It is from here that we will migrate to the stars.

If there is a fall of the US civilization we are in for other dark ages of a thousand years or more.  There is no replacement for that it is as a cultural leader and technological power house on the planet.

They have barely gotten a vehicle in hear earth orbit while we are getting ready to land a comet ( having landed on an asteroid ) and visit Pluto and other kyperbelt objects.

The US has three vehicles in mars, a dozen on various observation missions  from orbiting the asteroid belt, Jupiter and its moon, comets plus etc. They have one satellite. We are about to launch the largest telescope ever to replace Hubble in 2015 and it will orbit at L2 region some one million miles from the the planet giving us views of the Universe enough to spot extrasolar planets directly and to see back into the dawn of time.

No they cannot catch up for another 100 years.

America also haS over 48 million on foodstamps. Foreclosures beyond belief. Lack of opportunities and tax burden on the rich and businesses who generate wealth.

Communist Obama is having fun while America declines. Money spent in space while many are starving and living in poverty......Obama at his best.

Time for a change, get a real president who knows economics and not foodstamps. Time for Romney to lead a great nation out of misery and despair caused by a communist Leader like Obama who sees foodstamps as the solution to America's economic decline.

48 million on foodstamps is enough to have a revolution.

Now, these people are on foodstamps because they do not have jobs, because people like Romney sent the factories to China who offers one of the cheapest labor costs on earth.

The question is, how is Romney going to fix the economy when he wants the presidency to help others like him to move more factories to China?

I couldn't disagree more. First of all, Obama is fighting on George Bush's team. Secondly, although George helped destroy the economy, he didn't do it single-handedly. The process began essentially with the assassination of Kennedy. At that point, successive US administrations began to dismantle the nation's commitment to science and infrastructure, and began the descent into a financial speculator's paradise. The final collapse did begin during Bush's presidency. The process could be reversed by the restoration of financial regulation, particularly Glass-Steagall, and a return to national banking instead of central banking (the Federal Reserve.) The government would then need to create credit and channel it into major, long-overdue infrastructure projects, especially for water management, power generation and transmission, and modern rail transport. That would employ millions productively. Obama and Romney both oppose this approach, particularly Glass-Steagall, a vital first step to stop the hemorrhaging.

No money is being spent in space.Perhaps you are complaining that money is being spent on earth for the purposes of learning about space. If so, Obama is your man, because he seeks to put an end to that as well. Which makes him an idiot. Nations like China, which are actually progressing economically, understand the economic benefits of basic science.

the best part of science and technology is it allows us to extend the range of our senses.  Science and technology is not about jobs, but our experience of our world and how better to do so.
