Hey Filmfare! You Just Missed Out These INCREDIBLE Performances In Your 2017 Awards Nominations

Martini Shots, Bollywood, January 10, 2017, Authors: Arunita Tiwari (Editorial Team), http://www.desimartini.com/new...bed/article42304.htm

If you ever thought that the film awards in India were sold, manipulated or biased this year the award shows for 2016 will confirm your fears! If you were astonished at the series of awards that were given out in the Screen Awards or the Star Dust Awards that were held recently, then won’t be very pleased with the Filmfare Awards nominations that were announced today.

2016 saw some spectacular films and great performances that set us thinking and were much talked about all though the year. But some of these good performances have sadly found no place in the Filmfare nominations and that has led to much noise being made on the social media, especially on behalf of actors and films that deserved recognition like Akshay Kumar and his two much appreciated films from 2016 including Rustom and Airlift.

Hey Filmfare! You Just Missed Out These INCREDIBLE Performances In Your 2017 Awards Nominations

If you scan through all categories of nominations you certainly won’t be surprised to find only a handful of big film contending in this very limited race. Films like Udta Punjab, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Kapoor and Sons, Sultan, Dangal, Neerja and Pink to be more specific are ruling all the sections. Not that these films were not the most popular or the biggest highlights of 2016, but there are so many of the big and popular films that went entirely neglected this year.

If these trends are not enough to suggest that the Bollywood awards are entirely unfair and fixed we don’t know what else is. The organizers and jury of award show in India desperately need to understand that recognition of good performances and creative output in Bollywood goes beyond the assessment of the highest grossing films!

Take a look at the nominations for Filmfare 2017 here -
