GYO grab first innings from TSC

Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) grabbed first innings points from Transport Sports Club (TSC) when play in the Georgetown Cricket Association Noble House Sea Foods Second Division two-day tournament continued last weekend.

TSC were bowled out for 156 in 30 overs after they were asked to bat at GYO. Mark Ramsammy struck 82, while Jamal Wilson made 20 and Shaun Massiah 17; Darshan Persaud bagged 5-64, Wazim Ally 3-14 and Utom Munroe 2-54. GYO in reply scored 231 all out in 57 overs to take a 75-run lead. Yudister Persaud slammed 72, Wazim Ally 32, Richard Hoyte 25 and Darshan Persaud 22.

Massiah picked up 4-56 and Joel Spooner 3-60.

Batting a second time TSC managed 252 all out in 45.4 overs. Devaughn Nandan struck 116 (14×4 & 8×6), Mark Ramsammy 43 and Adrian Hinds 35. Bowling for GYO, Surendra Hirilall snared 4-50.

Set 178 to win from a minimum of 22 overs. GYO finished on 127-8. Richard Hoyte made 37 not out, Yudister Persaud 32 and Mark Deonarine 30. Teenage pacer Mark Baptiste gabbed 5-49 and Joel Spooner 3-40.
