GT Beer Keep Your 5 Alive KO Futsal Tourney…Sparta Boss, Back Circle, Future Stars and West Front Road stay alive for the semis

On another pulsating night of exchanges when the battle intensified as teams fight to stay alive, those who survived are Sparta Boss, Back Circle, Future Stars and West Front Road which all earned potentially mouth watering dates in the semi finals of the GT Beer Keep Your 5 Alive KO Futsal Tourney.
Playing the at #1 venue for this format of the indoor sport, National Gymnasium, Sparta did not earn an easy passage by any means as they had to fight back from a goal down to end the hopes of a game, Leopold Street.

Okeene Fraser, who scored twice, had handed Leopold Street the initial lead five minutes into the match, but that advantage was short-lived as another player who netted twice, Sparta’s Sheldon Shepherd, cancelled out that advantage one minute later.
Two minutes later, Sparta’s Eusi Phillips, who blasted a hat-trick, handed his side the lead which they further increased in the 21st minute on account of Phillips’ second goal. Leopold Street were never going to give in or give up and they fired back through goals from Fraser (26) and Sheldon Profit three minutes later to knot the scores again at 3-3.
Leopold Street then squeezed into the lead on 32 minutes via a Manasseh Primo goal and were scenting victory only for Sparta’s main weapons on the night, Phillips and Shepherd, to lash in back to back goals in the 33rd and 34th minutes respectively, to see their team over the line in a scintillating clash which brought the curtains down on an explosive evening.
The main supporting match also ended 5-4 in favour of Back Circle which had to come from two goals down against Hustlers to claim a spot in the semi finals. Reigning Guinness Greatest of the Streets Football champions, Dave and Celina all Stars of Linden were booted from the competition by Future Stars 7-4, while the opening clash of the night, which set the tone for the remaining matches, saw West Front Road squeezing past Tucville in a nerve racking finish, 3-2.
