The Petra Organisation Futsal Competition received a timely boost when Banks DIH Limited under its GT Beer Brand confirmed its association with the event, during a simple ceremony that was conducted, at the Company’s Head Office, at Thirst Park.
The occasion had in attendance the Company’s Communications Director Troy Peters and Petra officials Troy Mendonca and Mark Alleyne.
Mendonca in his remarks thanked the Company for its continued support for the Organisation’s programmes, noting that it is testimony that the relationship between the two entities which dates back many years is still going strong.
He spoke of the Company’s assistance during the recently concluded GT Beer/Limacol Knockout Football Tournament albeit in difficult times, an effort he said must be applauded.
According to the Petra official, β€œIt just shows their continued commitment to sports and social responsibility to the public at large so on behalf of the football fraternity, the communities at large and the GFF, thanks to the executive of Banks DIH for coming on board to deliver another grassroots programme that will benefit the football fraternity.”
Peters in his address said the event plays right into one of the objectives of the company which is to organise sporting events that target communities.
β€œWe are extremely pleased to be part of the competition because we know the players in those communities want something to do. This is where we see it fit to offer our support and an organisation like Petra that plan these events, see the need to have the wards involved. We look forward to continuing the relationship with Petra and look forward to a grand finish in the next few days,” Peters added.
He further stated that the competing teams should be applauded for the manner in which they have displayed a high level of discipline throughout the tournament.
