Well I dont exactly TASTE my women but coming back to RC, it is something about her that gets my Engine revving. She has that face of an Angel, body like Gold and legs like a Obtrich. I remember him saying he was out whoring at our first Republic celebration. I am a bit long in the tooth and at that time was still begging this redhead in my lit. class for a kiss. She was a christina Hendricks look alike. Her mom was from Galicia. I never met her dad. She was three years older than me I ( was 3 years  ahead in high school). I went to  Toronto and was a delinquent for a few years so by the time I met her again in College, she was three years ahead, more mature and a lot smarter. Worse off her boyfriend ( and later her husband) was a big German named Wolf ( Wolfgang), he looked like a reject from the football team and he was quite crazy. I weighed 115 lbs so I stayed out of his way. But I did not stand a chance anyways. Memories as kids in sharing first kisses ( and a bit more) got me over for awhile but she soon chose the better man. It did not bother me a bit because I was like a bull in a china shop. Too many girls to think straight.  I still talk to her now and then and last time I saw her ( a year ago)  she still looked hot.

My wife is everything I ever wanted in a woman and I am lucky to have her. Errol can also affirm she is no ugly woman or a dunce but an extraordinarily smart one and more than my equal.  I was not the best behaved or the most mature  of husband with her either. No, my weakness in my immature days which lasted late into my 30s has always been  the curse that beautiful women came easy to me. If you are engaging and interesting and easy on the eyes that is your "luck" or curse depending on how you look at it.

I do not disparage my wife here with anyone. In 15 years none of the women on this site can say I made a crude or suggestive joke with them. You also never hear me saying I want this or that woman or I am have this or that sweet woman.That is for idiots. I am happy with what I have and leave the longing to those of you who will never learn or always want more than you should have. I learnt my lessons the hard way.

Guyanese men are no gems. If they are stupid it is because they are and not because I respect a former girlfriend and maintain a sound, healthy relationship with her.

Stormborn, if that is not being in love with someone who dumped you (while you are married to another) then I don't know what is.  All I can say is this.  Buddy count your self lucky to have a woman who is married to you and stays with you.  Remember this.  "A bird in hand is worth more than two in the bush" 

or in your case "A bird in hand is worth much more than one that got away from you.

The point is I love my sister, my children my wife, my baby mamas, and my ex girlfriends because they are good people and in them is the essential comfort one finds in life.

And what is this nonsensical aphorism has to do with birds and bushes? Get real fool and do not believe because you think in your mind there is a compulsion of desire and lust here that is what I mean. I mean she is a good looking woman and she is a treasured friend of mine. As one gets older one knows the treasures in one's life. Plus, unless you are daft  what part of talking to her a few times a year you do not get? I should add she lives not but a few miles from me and I often mountain bike with her second husband and kid. I have no internal pull to see her.

By the way, I was dumped more than a dozen times and I am sure I feel no regrets because the fact is I really did not care. That is what I was trying to convey. Immaturity, insensitivity and a shallow out look to relationship can be a terrible thing. I was that and lost great friendships and I know I hurt many. They know each other since we all became adults together.  And yes, she was my first love and she remains  a melody in my head like all first love should since it is about innocence and not all the shit you seem to think it conveys.
