Clinton campaign agrees to back Jill Stein's election recount effort

Hillary Clinton's campaign said Saturday it intends to back the statewide election recount effort in the battleground state of Wisconsin being spearheaded by third-party candidate Jill Stein.

The Clinton team had been quiet about Stein's crusade, but campaign lawyer Marc Elias said that because a recount was set into motion Friday — and could begin as soon as next week — they want to see a "fair" process for all involved.

"Because we had not uncovered any actionable evidence of hacking or outside attempts to alter the voting technology, we had not planned to exercise this option ourselves," Elias wrote in a Medium post on Saturday explaining the decision, "but now that a recount has been initiated in Wisconsin, we intend to participate in order to ensure the process proceeds in a manner that is fair to all sides."

Wisconsin election officials said they received Stein's paperwork and that they were still waiting to obtain a cost estimate from county clerks to calculate a fee that Stein's campaign must pay before the start of the recount.

The Green Party's presidential nominee also has plans to file a recount effort in Michigan, where NBC News has yet to officially call a winner, and Pennsylvania.

President-elect Donald Trump still holds narrow leads in all three states, and his victories in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin provided him with the Electoral College advantage he needed to win the presidency.

Elias acknowledged that the "the number of votes separating Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in the closest of these states — Michigan — well exceeds the largest margin ever overcome in a recount," but said they felt it was "important, on principle" to partake in and monitor the process.

If Stein follows through with her promise to pay for recounts in Michigan and Pennsylvania, Elias wrote, the campaign will "take the same approach" with additional states and participate in any verification efforts there.

Until now, the Clinton campaign declined to comment on the potential re-tallying. After what aides called a crushing and unanimously stunning loss, most went silent as they came to grips with the outcome.

Over the last few weeks, lawyers and data scientists urged the campaign to consider a recount, according to Elias' post. He also said a deciding factor for the campaign was Russia's reported interference in the U.S. election process.

Why is it so easy to get a recount in Democratic USA and Guyana whom the USA monitor the General Elections did not agree to a recount?

Shows why most people refer to the Great US of A as a double edge knife, did they stab the PPP/C behind their back?

GOOD. NOW, can we get a recount in Guyana, where the results have been unbelievably close, and where the PPP says there is ACTUAL evidence of intimidation and irregularities...not to mention a LONG history of PNC fraudulent elections that were actually DOCUMENTED?

Just imagine for argument sake if Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin were to be recounted, and the recounts favor the Democratic Party...........I am sure that the USA will be like a laughing stock of the world.

Quote "Unofficial election results indicate Republican Donald Trump won 290 electoral votes to 232 for Democrat Hillary Clinton, although Clinton won the popular vote with 64.2 million to 62.2 million for Trump. If the results in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania are reversed, Trump would lose 30 electoral votes, leaving him 10 shy of the 270 needed to secure the presidency. Michigan’s 16 votes have yet to be awarded to either candidate."unquote

The US Presidential election results will become official on Dec 19 when the States electors submit their results.

Hillary Clinton conceded (like Al Gore who then engaged in a legal battle for Florida's recount) and the Obama Administration noted that the election process was free from fraudulence and they stand behind the results. Even Jill Stein, who's leading this effort, doesn't think that her actions will result in a reversal.

Should this happen though in PA (20) and WI (10) in this year of unprecedented electioneering, who knows? A flip of 30 means a swing of 60 (+/- 30) and Trump's tally would drop from the current 290 to 260, while Hillary's would climb from the current 232 to 262 with Michigan's 16, where Trump leads by 0.3% or 11,612 votes, deciding the Presidency.

Bhai, it's not a nightmare and it's not a dream. The President will be who the President is and that's all. You seem nervous.

Nah, it's just fun beating up on you sore posters.  But I know you all will get over it and make money and all will be forgiven!  I met many Jaganites in the US who made money in the belly of the beast, now they more capitalist than Trump.  They say Jagan was an a-hole!

Money talks, BS walks!

Long live Trump!!
