Eleven key players will miss tomorrow’s round due to them leaving on Saturday for a West Indies training Camp in Barbados. The Camp is in preparation for the senior team’s tour to the UAE where they face Pakistan in a T20, ODI and Test series and the ‘A’ team’s tour to Sri Lanka.

No Guyanese has been selected for the t20 slated from September 23-27 or ODI series which runs from September 30 to October 5.

Lower Corentyne with wins over Essequibo at Tuschen and Georgetown at Albion lead the point standings with 36.5, while East Coast with wins over West Demerara at Lusignan and Upper Corentyne at Enterprise are on 31.5 points in second position.

Both L/C’tyne and East Coast have 6 bowling points but the Berbice side, which made the highest total in the competition when Jonathon Foo’s destructive 152 and half-centuries from David Latchaya and Gajanand Singh pushed them to 382, have 6 batting points to East Coast’s one. Both teams have .5 of a point earned by pacers taking five of the wickets to fall.

West Demerara, who beat East Bank at Everest are third on 21.5 points, while Essequibo, who rebounded from their first loss to beat West Berbice at the Young Warriors ground in Canje are fourth on 18.1 points.

East Bank are fifth with 10.1 points, Georgetown are on 10.1 points, while U/C’tyne on 9.7 points are at the bottom of the points table in the eighth-team League after two rounds.

From tomorrow, West Berbice play West Demerara at the Young Warriors ground and in an all Berbice affair, L/C’tyne and U/C’tyne face-off at Port Mourant in the two games in Berbice.

G/Town and East Coast clash at Bourda and Essequibo battle East Bank at Everest in the games in the City.

Foo has been in sublime form and has two tons and is the only batsman to reach 300 with scores of 152, 127 & 26 not out. Essequibo’s Kevin Boodie (102) is the only other batsman to reach three-figures.

L/C’tyne’s left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul has three five-wicket hauls, the only 10-wicket haul (10-80 vs E’bo) and the most wickets (19) after two rounds.

Spinners Gudakesh Motie, Ameer Khan and Akenie Adams along left-arm pacer Raymon Reifer each took 5 wicket-hauls in the opening round, while off-spinner Ershad Ali’s 7-62 in the second round is the best figures in the League.

Anthony Adams (5-25), Permaul (5-39), Romario Shepherd (5-23) and Kamesh Yadram (5-34) are the other bowlers to capture five-wicket hauls in the last round.

Permaul will be badly missed by L/C’tyne, while Assad Fudadin and Devendra Bishoo will not play for U/C’tyne. Ronsford Beaton and Kemo Paul will be unavailable for E’bo, while Rajendra Chandrika and Paul Wintz will not play for East Coast.
