GCB/DMLAS/NSC/NSSCL… Mae’s Secondary and Bush Lot Secondary win

The 2017/2018 Guyana Cricket Board/Demerara Mutual Life Assurance Society Limited/National Sport Commission/National Secondary School Cricket League (GCB/DMLAS/NSC/NSSCL) continued with matches being played in Georgetown and the East Coast of Demerara.
Over at the MYO ground in Woolford Avenue, Mae’s Academy batted first and posted a competitive score of 146, before being all out off 16.4 of their allotted overs. Batting for Mae’s Yeudistir Persaud, top score with 44, Uslondeva Balogobin 14, Rafaan Azeez 16 and Ekram Ramdass 12. Bowling for St. Winifred Fizal, Hussain grabbed the superb figures 6-27, while Joshua Thompson took 3-12.
In reply St. Winifred Secondary could only muster 68 all out in 11.1 overs. Joshua Thompson top scored with 23. Bowling for Mae’s, Triston Rodrigues took 4 top order wickets for just 5 runs, while Ushandeva Balgobin supported with 2-29. Mae’s Academy won by 78 runs.
Over at the Bush Lot ground in West Berbice, Rosignol Secondary won the toss and elected to take first strike against Bush lot Secondary. However, Rosignol decision to bat proved futile, as they only managed to make 64 all out of 20.2 of their allotted 30 overs. Shakir Saffie and Antwane Alexander were the only two batsmen to meet double figures with 16 and 11 respectively. Bowling for Bush Lot, Hemraj Lalsa returned remarkable figures of 5 for 5, while Tamesh Persaud took 2 for 24.
In reply, Bush Lot Secondary batted with much freedom and ease to reach 65 for 2 off just 7 overs. Marvan Prasad made 38 and Komal Brigmohan 10 not out. Bush Lot Secondary won by 8 wickets.
Matches in the GCB/DMLAS/NSC/NSSCL continue on Monday on the East Coast of Demerara, where School Of The Nations compete with Queen’s College at the Ogle Ground and Bladen Hall will oppose Golden Grove at Enterprise ground. In Georgetown, Valmiki Vidyalaya will do battle with Mae’s at the GNIC, in Woolford Avenue. All matches commence from 11:00 hours.
