Now the the Flu season is around the corner, how many of you will take the Flu Shot ? It is free in Ontario and heavily advertised everywhere.
Personally never took it but hitting 50's is making me having second thoughts.
What do you say ?

Never took it and don't plan on doing so now.
Never took any, don't plan to.My body immune to Flu for the past few years, rarely get severe flu, just slight last for the most two days.
Took it one year and got sick...never again.
Interesting responses. I might hold off for now but it is just nagging me seeing all of these signs everywhere about getting the flu shots.
Paging Cain, please chime in.

The drug stores pay for the signs bai.
Never have never will.
We should know by now flu shots are for the flu from the previous year, they cannot make it for the strain that's coming...total bullshit I say.
I tend to use Echinacea by Vogel before I catch anything, for me that is the best brand sold at the Health food stores. I would not take the stuff in drug stores, that is the crap they test and not receive good results. I first used this for psoriasis which knocked it out of my system, I took it internally and externally. I was once told by a doctor (whom I introduced it to) she went to a function at Sunny brook hospital and found some doctors do use it but cannot inform their patients about it and NO I get nothing for this info from Vogel. Just go into a health store and ask for the best brand see what they give ya.
never took it...although my doc tells me I should
I have never taken it. But as we all get older our immune system breaks down. Might be worth considering in the future. So I will not rule it out for later years
The only thing I took 2 years ago was the shingles vaccine
As we get older our body's resistance gets weaker, the flu kills many elder patients every year. I have been taking the flu shots for the past eight years and it made a difference, before that, the flu would knock me down for at least a week, now ,during the flu season I just get a cold for a day or two. But, don't take the vaccine too early, it is only good for three months, I will be taking mine in early December, because the peak of the flu season is during the Xmas and New Year holidays, that's when people mix and mingle in crowded places. My son was a non believer of the flu shots but one year he got very sick and went to the emergency , the doctors then advised him to have the flu shots, he has been taking it for the past three years, he is a doctor.

You need the manicole broom.
I do take it every year because i work with kids .
My sister once took it and became violently ill. My mom took it last year and regretted doing so. I advised them to not take it again.
I take it every year for the last 10. Just got mine 2 weeks ago.
My hubby, who has type 2 Diabetes, has been taking it for the last 10+ years and swears by it.
I hardly get the full blown flu.....I would get sinus infection which almost always move to my chest and I get bronchitis (at least once a year), so several years ago, I took the flu shot for two consecutive years and found that it did nothing to keep away the bronchitis, so I haven't taken it for about 5 years now. knock on wood......no bronchitis for the last two years either!!
Was talking to my pops today and heard a lot of folks in Canada are getting the flu recently. He is just recovering, says it is a bad strain and leaves you with a lingering, bad cough.
I haven't heard anything on that but I walked through the mall today by my place and saw many of ole geezers sitting around waiting for their shot at a,"flu shot fair." Chances are I won't be seeing most of them after the winter, shot or not.
Another thing. Some people get carried away with this flu thing. They get a sniffle and some coughing with runny nose, they say they caught the flu. Most of what I see are people not dressing for the weather. Last Sunday I took my buddy and his son to the arena for hockey practice. When it was over the kids were walking outside with beads of sweat running down their heads without head covering. I gave my buddy heck because his son was one of those kids and should know better. The son always refused to wear head covering and just last year he had developed pneumonia.
It works for some.and does not for others. I am one of those that it works for. I use to get colds and flu alot...the kind that hurts like hell and last for at least couple of weeks. Started taking the flu shots I think about 11 or 12 years now and I don't remember the last time I had the flu. As for the cold.. lucky if it last 3 days. I will not stop taking them and they do not make me sick. In order for it to work you have to be consistent.
