Before 1996, I used to process my roll films at RISANS in that building. After I sold my Russian-made ZENIT camera, I bought a battery-powered Japanese KONICA camera at RISANS. I remember Yussuff Sankar as a tall weighty guy.

Incidentally, according to one news report, Moses and Sita Nagamootoo were evacuated from their official resistance which stands next to the Sankar building. Firemen doused Moses' home to prevent it burning too.

A 77-year-old businessman is suspected to have been burnt alive early Monday morning after the building which housed his living quarters and two businesses on Main and Lamaha Street, Georgetown mysteriously caught alight.

Suspected dead is Yusuf Sankar.

One of Sankar’s sons had reportedly insisted that his father was in the burning building.
