The Environmental protection Agency (EPA) is also ongoing with its “name them shame them” campaign where they are highlighting numerous litter culprits with over 10 persons including well-known business places being recently pulled in for illegal dumping and littering.
Some persons have been fined $50,000 to $100,000, while others were issued removal orders. The EPA urges citizens to contact the Litter Enforcement Unit on 600-0620, 219 2630, 225-0506, or emailgreenguyana@gmail.com to report illegal dumping activities.

Does it have some "personal" appeal?
Not that particular one, but when I lived in Suriname I regularly visited a not dissimilar place called Palmen tuin. It also has a near identical bridge, which was highly regarded as a meeting place for dates. From what I have been told by friends in Guyana the Guyanese equivalent was in a similar vein, but has been ruined through neglect. So where do young people go these days for a romantic walk? The sea wall. Calling that romantic is not something I share.
