FACT.  Moses generated more votes for the PPP than he did for APNU AFC.  he is now walking in with a diminished position.  All I need to do is to look and see who the AFC cabinet members are.   I assume that all will also be MPs, so there are only 4 additional slots available to the AFC.  It will be interesting to see it any will be Moses loyalists.

Vitriol against AFC Indians.  Any time now I expect them to be vocal about how it appears as if they are being squeezed out by the others.

Feel free to explain why the PPP obtained 182k votes in 2006, 166k in 2011, and suddenly 202k in 2015, when their reputation amongst even its base had hit a new low?  Most will say that the PPP ran a campaign of racial panic, and were quite successful at this amongst its base, given widespread misgiven about Moses joining an APNU dominated coalition.

PPP fires back at Diplomats over elections credibility; urges them not to intrude

GECOM and representatives from the ABC countries during the meeting

The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has responded to a statement attributed to members of the diplomatic corps over the results of the recently concluded 2015 General and Regional Elections in Guyana.

While the PPP over the past weeks has maintained that the elections were rigged, the ABC countries (ABC) through their local envoys have restated their position that the 2015 national polls were free and credible.

In a recent statement, US Charge D Affaires Bryan Hunt said β€œin the final analysis, international observer missions found the polling, counting, verification, and tabulation processes to be free, fair, and credible. The final results of the election accurately reflected the votes cast by the Guyanese people.  All political parties should respect the outcome of the democratic process”

But the PPP in a statement on Sunday, May 24 said it β€œfinds this statement unhelpful and at cross-purposes with all the declarations and demands made by the Party ever since Gecom declared the final results of the May 11th 2015 General and Regional elections.”

According to the main Opposition Party, it is neither interested nor desirous of being on a collision course with the US or any other diplomatic mission resident in Guyana, stating there should not be any intrusion by the diplomats in this matter.

β€œThe PPP is urging an end to the persistent diplomatic intrusions into the highly sensitive and emotive matter pertaining to the results of the just concluded general and regional elections which will eventually find its way to the Court in the search for a just and satisfactory ruling .”

The Party affirmed that the members and supporters of the PPP/C who voted with confidence and optimism for another PPP/C victory at the polls demand that their votes be respected, safeguarded and re-counted.

β€œThey remain convinced that they were cheated at the polls. The Party maintains that the Foreign Observers while having done their level best at simply observing the voting process at the polling places to ensure that voting was free and fair failed, due to their limited mandate, to play any part whatsoever in the tabulation and verification of the votes cast in favour of each contesting party,” the press release pointed out.

The PPP said that the absence of the observers at the tabulation was a major flaw in the observation undertaking by the international observers. It is not usual to see such flaws dismissed as not having any significant impact on the results of the elections.

β€œThe PPP rejects this notion as an international bad practice. The PPP and the ABC countries represented through their diplomatic representatives in Guyana have enjoyed friendly and cordial relations over the years,” the release stated.

If the PPP had won and APNU was instead making allegations the PPP knows full well that it would be using comments from the same ABC nations that the election was free and fair.  They have done so after every election where they won.

Let the PPP release to the public their SoP and let the public see from themselves whether their whining has any basis.  Demanding a recount, just because you don't like the results has no basis, especially when it was only Saturday that the results were released after an election held on Monday.  Even giant India does better than that.

You call it vitriol.  I call it facts and watch while the G/twn AFC faction seems to be assuming control.  Call it as you wish.

Maybe Granger heard the grumbles that he gave away too much to Moses for what Moses brought so decided to give it to Raphael instead.  After all its the same AFC, even if a different segment of it.

Unless you are blaming me for Harmon assuming Moses' role, the AFC with currently 30% and not 40% of cabinet, and the fact that 5 out of the 8 AFC  cabinet slots are in the hands of the G/town faction, I don't see how I can be accused of anti AFC Indo vitriol.

i have no problems with your facts

what i have a problem with is your bitterness at the Indian AFC leadership because the PPP scared a chunk of the 2011 Indians back to their plantation

u act as if Moses asked them to vote PPP

Now where do you see that I blame the AFC Indo leadership.  I have consistently defended Moses' right to put his nationality ahead of his ethnicity, as I would have expected Ramotar to do, but he did NOT.

Its the PPP I blame for waging a racist campaign aimed at scaring Indians, and using as its focus statements which Moses made.  They played on the insecurities that Indians have of the PNC, and by under mining Moses' Indian identity, communicated to them that he would be too weak and spineless to defend them against an African dictatorship.

It WORK in getting both Indians and Africans/mixed out to vote.  Too bad for the PPP that it provided the margin of victory for the coalition, given the record turnout in Regions 7 and 10 for APNU.

FACT is that the net result of this is that the APNU AFC margin of victory DID NOT come from PPP strongholds.

FACT is that politics is about power and right now the success of the PPP in scaring the Indo vote has likely to rendered Moses less able to defend his position.  Harmon is now mouthing off things that should be said by Moses, and the G/town faction (which is friendly to Granger) now dominates the AFC seats in the cabinet.  This is not vitriol.  This is FACT.

You cannot refute my points, which are actually more sympathetic to AFC Indos, so you resort to nonsense.

Moses got screwed by the PPP.  His position seems weakened as he cannot prove that he is the king maker.  And he looks weakened not only within the coalition as a whole, but apparently even within the AFC.

Now if that is anti AFC Indo then what can I say.

They helped rigged the Guyana election with the help of Jimmy Carter.  His sole purpose was to get rid of the PPP.  Did Obama sent him to Guyana to rig the Election and install his own kind?

How do you suggest Granger was able to decipher how many AFC votes Trotman brought to the coalition's victory as opposed to what Moses brought?

I agree with you with respect to Moses's position within both coalition and AFC. In fact I would go a bit further and suggest that the AFC positioning in the current power structure could be the undoing of the AFC.
