Does anyone remember the Cricket World Cup celebrations in Guyana?

The PPP borrowed US $20 million to build the cricket stadium.

Gave away millions of taxpayer dollars to Buddy to build his hotel and he turned around and reaped a profit when he sold it after the cricket fiasco was over.

Encouraged investors to build new hotels and for citizens to convert their homes into bed and breakfast accommodation.

Told the Guyanese people that 25,000 tourists would show up for the Cricket World Cup.

Talked about the cruise ships and yachts which would pull into Port Georgetown.

After all the fuss and taxpayer dollars spent hardly anyone showed up.

At least people are going back to Guyana by the thousands for the Independence Celebrations.

That doesn't matter.

"Ahbe bin in powa den.  We only vex becuz we cyant scream, ahbe pan tap".  "We vex baaad dat dem blackman can celebrate, and we cyant stap dem.  Dey really boldface to rub dat we lost de last elecshun in we face".

In fact not much later a lavish command performance at the stadium occurred, where civil servants were forced to leave work to kiss the ring of the emperor, as this occurred during the week, during working hours.

Clearly Forbes Burnham was Jagdeo's mentor, as he has copied so many aspects of him.

What FOOLS they are Grandma. The Stadium wa packed, the Govt got back their money and more. The World Cup was a success in Guyana.

The people at the stadium were mostly locals.

Where were the 25,000 tourists who were supposed to come to Guyana? They never showed up.

Where were the cruise ships and yachts that were supposed to dock at Port Georgetown? They stopped at the islands and never made it to Guyana.

What happened to the hundreds of bed and breakfast that the government asked people to convert their homes into? Those people are still anxiously waiting for the tourists to show up. It should be any day now, any day now.

Why was the money given to Buddy to build his hotel never paid back? The man sold the hotel and made off with taxpayer money given to him. He didn't even pay his electricity bills for the hotel and owed GPL close to $50 million. Eventually they settled for less than $40 million.

Who stayed in all those new hotels which were built specially for the World Cup? Mosquitoes.

The World Cup was a huge disappointment after the expectations set by the government.

The UK and Australians were too terrified to visit Guyana.  They went to Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua, and St Kitts, and watched the Guyana matches in the sports bars.

Jagdeo got people to build all sorts of hotels, and they cussed him out when no one came, and they lost their investment.

If course, Buddy, a friend of Jagdeo, was fully compensated by taxpayers for his losses.

Its seriously comical to see these PPP frauds wail about the Jubilee, when they know full well that if it was the PPP in power, there would have been massive concerts, with the best (and most expensive) of Bollywood.  All paid for by the taxpayers.

She now thinks that her name is Jagdeo, who misses his soldier boyfriend.  The newspaper man isn't doing the job right.

That stadium is one of the grand fixtures in Guyana.  The inauguration was held there.  Many national events were held there.  It will become a landmark and valuable national asset!

Dont tell dat to them dunces, they still think getting whip at Hope Estate is the best thing that ever happened to them.

Interesting, yet you think that the Jubilee is a waste.

Face it US$20 million plus interest, down the drain.  No foreign exchange generated.  Just another Thirst Park.
