The WPA will remain with APNU, they are very well aware that even in APNU with less significance they are in a better position than being outside of APNU.

They know quite well what it is like to not be in parliament.

They also know that they have zero capacity to raise money and fund a campaign independent of APNU.

Roopnarine has gained quite a bit since joining APNU. He is not about to give that up. More than likely he will remain an MP with APNU.

Roopnarine is a good man.  When Guyana needed help the most and it was dangerous to oppose the PNC Burnhamite, Roopnarine was there for us.

The WPA helped to break the back of the PNC.

However, the WPA today is a spent shell with no organization or membership. When we taught they would have done well in 1992 when they were at their best, they did poorly.

Thomas is now an old man who did not even become VC of UG where he spent the whole of his life.  He turned down a Minister's job with the PPP in 1992.  He probably just wants to be an armchair academic, so you respect what he says but don't take him seriously.

These numbers corroborate your point, master:

1992: WPA = 6,086 votes

1997: WPA-Guyana Labour Party coalition = 4,783 votes

2001: WPA-Guyana Action Party coalition = 9,451 votes

2006: WPA didn't contest

2011: WPA contested under APNU umbrella

Roopnarine was a PNC mole in the WPA. He played his dual role well. Why do you think Walter Rodney got assasinated?
