Most impressed by the performance of the new Crime Chief.  He is solving the crime but after the people have been brutalised.  Time to move up the value chain to catching the criminal in the act.

It's next to impossible to catch criminals in the act. We are not living in a police state with the latest high tech surveillance methods. That would require a camera in every house and corner of the street, and constant listening to people's communications. I know what I am talking about. I live in the UK, which now has the most spied upon population by the security services. No other country in the world has such a high level of spying on their citizens. It is scary. If you accidentally type the wrong word you could end up getting shot dead by the police. Just a week or two ago a 10 year old muslim school boy wrote terrorist instead of terrace in a school question about what kind of house he lives in. Next thing you know the house was surrounded by heavily armed police with helicopters flying overhead. We can do without  that kind of intrusion by the state.

The police always had the capability of solving cases, however being predominantly PNC supporters, the saw crime solving as a blow to their party, so they sat on their hands and let the country suffer for political mileage. Today they allow the criminals to rob and kill then move in after the money is spend and make symbolic arrests. This does not help the nation. Prevention is better than cure.

Nonsense,  what help did they get? Filling the pockets of PNC supporters so they can sport? The police has always been a tool of the PNC leadership. Now that they are in charge they find creative ways to still allow their supporters to get their take while making symbolic arrests.

They were always under duress by the PNC with threats of mo fiah slow fiah, so they felt obligated to keep the PNC supporters employed in the armed forces.  In addition, the PPP supporters were not joining the police force en masse to effect changes to the culture of the force. Certainly a misstep by the PPP to not stack the forces with their supporters, this turned out to be their downfall over the years as the PNC took advantage of this and continued to rob and brutalize the nation.
