Hundreds Of Air Jamaica passengers were stranded this morning for Toronto .

Air Jamaica fleet of aircraft was down for schedule  maintence during the Christmas seasons with no alternative arrangements for aircraft .

I was schedule  to depart Jan 9th for Toronto and was told not to show up at the airport until further notice . Finally , got the call yesterday at 1 PM to show up Jan 12 for 1:30 AM check in ... departure at 5:45 AM ... 9:20 and still waiting to board .

All there backlog passengers along with today schedule passangers were told to arrive ... guess what , hundreds of backlog passengers were not on the manifest ... hundreds of furious passengers ..some crying , don’t know if they will get their jobs back, some has no money to take taxi , babies without milk .

It cost me $100. CA bribe to get a seat , having to leave my wife and kids behind .

You should have booked with CAL.

My relatives had some problems returning to the homeland last weekend ,their flight was Sunday early morning with CAL,the terminal at JFK was shut down which caused major disruptions, after the terminal was re-opened they were home on Tuesday morning.Cost lots of $$ for transportation from CT to JFK,two trips.

No fault of CAL,the airline got all their passengers home within two days.

If Jamaicans saw Fly Jamaica referred to as Air Jamaica they would string you up alive.

If you plan to survive do NOT refer to Fly Jamaica, a Guyanese airline, with Air Jamaica which used to be a "piece of Jamaica that flies".  They are still angry that a Guyanese and a Trini airline "come tek over Air Jamaica" and they want to know since when Guyanese have a right to use "Jamaica" as part of the name.

My 6 hours flight took almost 12 hours. I am not angry because of my experience .. I am Guyanese and is accustom to this.

I hope the Guyana Government would do something and don’t let these experience tarnish the image of Guyana ... I would encourage everyone to take a trip .

after leaving Guyana at 10 am yesterday and is in midair, the captain announce a diversion to Kingston Jamaica , claiming bad weather in Canada and the deicing was not working on the aircraft . We spend 3 1/2 hours sitting in the aircraft at Norman Manley airport .. finally touching down in Toronto at 8:20 Last night .

Going to Guyana !!! two of our suitcase did not arrive two days later .

Guys , these are situation where you see Guyanese of all races live like families .. the support they provide to each other at the airport and in the aircraft .

a Afro Passenger was left on her wheel chair , I push her with my carry on towards the aircraft . Air Jamaica workers are very helpful but Guyanese are wicked banna ... they sit on the wheel chair to be given first priority .

It wasn’t the case with this Afro woman , she was old and handicap .

Because of the number of family claiming to be handicap , they put pressure on the available resources and it’s a ploy to get on the aircraft first with other family members 😊.

my wife and daughter was left back and were  told they are coming tom.

I don't think I would ever abandon my wife and daughter like this, especially in Guyana.

Didn’t abandon my family boss!! Would never do so if their lives were at risk ...had to make that decision for a business meeting in Toronto, my flight was already delayed since 9th Jan.

Have great family members and devotes of Hari Krishna are with them .

I would have done it via Skype /  Video Conference.

My brother, not me.  But yes, deal with the powers to be.  BJ and Priya threatened them over the Lusignan Learning Center.   So this is sweet revenge for them.

He is helping update building codes and advise on infrastructure all for free.  I’m sure they will reap benefits sometime!  Kudos to them.

My other brother, a die-hard PPP, is working with an Indian doctor to establish a US medical training annex in Guyana.    Both sides will benefit from the venture.  Who gives a hoot who is in government !

Hey boi, soup is soup!!
