Certain things this current PPP cannot claim now

1. It can attract a plurality of the Guyanese electorate.

2. It can go beyond its traditional base of Indian supporters by more than 10%

3. It can get any legislation it wants passed through Parliament.

4. All Guyana's opposition represent is a slide to backwardness and violence.

5. It doesn't have to pay mind to corruption charges.

This is just a starter. You can fill in your own "PPP can't claim" lines.

If the PPP is losing support for two elections in a row, something is going terrible wrong.
Arrogance, or taking the voters for granted, or as Robert Persaud said, the blame rests with the voters.
This statement is stupidity, if they want to build, instead of destroying the party.

Now the PPP is in deeper trouble, because they dont have free reign of parliament, to do as they please.

The PPP runs the risk of losing more support unless it can demonstrate to the masses the it is serious about national unity. Slowly the racial divide is being narrowed.

PPP/C need to find their roots.

Under Jagdeo, they were trying to grow used the branches and leaves.

President Ramotar has a unique opportunity to reachout to the roots.....GAWU, Sugar workers, Local businessman, the original members of the PPP etc.

He also need to make changes in NY with the ACG. The New ACG must involve the local community leaders and businessmen. Raj is too arrogant and pompous. An ACG NY Leader must have the ability to reachout to all supporters and not for a few elite businessmen.

President Ramotar needs to rebuild the foundation that was dismantled by Jagdeo

For way too long the PPP/C supporters and the PPP/C took each other for granted. The supporter felt that there was no need to get out and vote thinking that they had already won.
On the other hand, PPP/C took their supporters for granted and neglected their supporters. Some communities are still suffering from dilapidated roads/schools. It’s time for the party to reach out to its supporters and win them back.

Is the ACG now [formally] an arm of the PPP??!

The sugar industry is on the verge of collapse. Jagdeo was just propping it up until elections. Watch for 2-3 estates to close next year.
