A Partnership for National Unity- APNU today met with the Roman Catholic Bishop of Guyana, Bishop Francis Alleyne and a delegation from the Catholic Church. A release from APNU said that the meeting which was held at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition, forms part of a series of engagements with Civil Society to determine a way forward from the present constitutional crisis caused by President Donald Ramotar’s prorogation of the Parliament of Guyana.

APNU took the opportunity to emphasize its position that there will be no negotiations with the Peoples Progressive Party/Civic administration, unless the Presidential proclamation of prorogation is reversed and parliament reconvened, the release.

Bishop Alleyne was accompanied to the meeting by Attorney at Law Gino Persaud and Albert Rodrigues.

The APNU team was led by Leader of the Opposition Brigadier David Granger, Deputy Chairman of the APNU, Dr. Rupert Roopnaraine, APNU General Secretary, Joseph Harmon, Shadow Minister for Local Government Ronald Bulkan and Director of Communications Mark Archer.
