You seem to forget that Hoyte governed Guyana under the same old PNC Constitution (the same one the PPP was happy to keep). This is the guy why was all about "kith and kin" and making the country ungovernable. He was also the rigger of the 1968 elections under the Kabaka. He was not open to free and fair elections. The Carter Center forced his hand. 

The 2015 election, whether it was RIGGED or NOT was a close election. It is still being challenged by the PPP in a petition. However, whenever an election is so close, it is not unreasonable to ask and get a recount. In a politically divisive society like Guyana, it is actually imperative that this process be transparent...AND, following the election, some form of rapprochement be established between the political leaders from all sides of the political spectrum to avoid a powder keg explosion. Just imagine...what would have happen if it was certified that the PNC had lost by 4,000 votes. Would the PPP be allowed to govern?

I think you are correct about one thing: Granger is setting the stage for a tragedy in 2020 (assuming national election is held then)...they are buying time until the oil money pours in. However, knowing the Indos, pressure will only come on the coalition if the ABCs decide to apply pressure, and if the PPP is willing to take to the streets to really agitate...both scenarios seem highly unlikely...at this point.

The 1992 election had nothing to do with Hoyte.  It was Jimmy Carter who enforced free and fair elections.

Let us not forget the role played by Prince Philip.  He told the Hoyte government during his visit to Guyana that if there is no free elections in Guyana then he will use his influence to put pressure on the Hoyte administration until there is free elections.

Yes he will face Trump who will congratulate him wishing that he had as much power. The UK PM is busy with Brexit and Trudeau has all of those Haitians who he has to deport after jumping up and down yelling that all immigrants who the USA rejects are welcome to migrate to Canada.

Then we have the ongoing crises in the Middle East and Africa, plus North Korea.  And Puerto Rico's mess.
