I can share my experiences.

I eat a low carb diet and have maintained a very fit look. Yes, whole wheat roti is what I eat. I avoid eating rice if I can.

I eat lots of Bhagi, Dhall, Paneer and Tofu etc. Being a vegetarian, these are naturally the types of foods which I eat.

Just did my annual checkup and had a clean bill of heath and my memory is as sharp as ever. My doctor said that her vegetarian patients seem to have less health issues. That does not mean that vegetarians are healthier than others.

I do not drink or smoke, avoid coffee and tea. Exercise and lots of reading also keeps the brain alert. I read volumes.

At 50, I look 30, Honestly.

It is a shame none of the reading and brain food do much to transform your thinking to wholesome,  healthy and sharp. Bad wiring I guess.

Can you repair a McIntosh 225? I was surprised when I saw one at Best Buy this past weekend. Looks impressive. The whole system with the speakers cost about $40,000.00 plus.

For me it's no alcohol, no smoking, no caffeine, no sugary drinks and no drugs (prescription only if I'm very sick and that does not happen often). Exercise of the body as well as the mind.

While there are numerous recommendations for foods to boost the brain, one should be cognizant of his/her eating habits to recognize and respond to ones body messages.

Some basic natural activities are, be conscious of what one eats; sleeping for a specific time; also do usual "power snooze" a few times a day; walking daily for half an hour as a minimum; etc., etc., etc..

As a note, some items are fruits like avocados, blueberries, vegetables, etc. are extremely useful.

Stand on your head a few minutes each day. It will relax your lower body and nourish your brain.  Get super relaxation by laying back in a jacuzzi or have beautiful woman massage your anatomy so you just let go of all your muscles and sleep like a baby.  Anything that relaxes you beyond the ordinary is great for your brain.  Observe nature in a quiet place.  climb a mountain and and stare down at god's creation. There are so many things that can relax the mind.  Of course, you need to eat a diet high in fibre and low in saturated fats. It's combination of nature and nurture that works wonder.

Skelly, that's the Audiophile world.

My will will faint if I tell tell her the true cost of some of my audiophile gear.

Django Bhai posted a very impressive tube amp. There is nothing better than the sound of tube amps. He ran rack up mega bucks repairing those tube amps.

I listen to my music collection with a nice tube amp, a nice DAC with a pair of Sennheiser Orpheus. It is like being in heaven. Then again, most folks could care less about excellent audio gear.

The best theraphy for the brain is actually putting it to use with practice daily. It staves off alzhimers and all sorts of ailment. In fact certain members believe that smoking dry cow doung is beneficial. This is incorrect, that is why you see a lot of them running after jackass Granger, sniffing his rear.
