Senior Superintendent of Police Wendell Blanhum was sent packing over the weekend, as the police force top brass moves forward with a drive to restructure the entire senior arm of the countryโ€™s premier law enforcement agency.

Several usually reliable sources have told the Guyana Guardian that Senior Superintendent Ravindranauth Budhram has now taken over from Wendell Blanhum as Crime Chief.

On the other hand, Blanhum and several others are expected to be transferred to another section of the police force.

However, there has been no official announcement to this effect.

Budram had previously served as Commander of F Division, which would now see Deputy Commander of B Division Senior Superintendent Edmond Cooper taking over as Commander of the said F Division.

Moves are also afoot to remove several other senior ranks from other important sections of the Guyana Police force, since their conduct and professionalism, among other things, have been brought into question.

This Blanhum is a talented Policeman.  A man like that can be a good PPP Member of Parliament or PPP running mate for the next election.

Prash, are you going crazy? If the PPP can be successful at the next election, you might be able to push for your own country. I remember you saying no black people.

I never said no black people. If you are an ally of the Guyana East Indian people then you are very welcome to join regardless of skin color or race. I am for Guyana Africans and Amerindians being allowed to be hindus if they want to so why I would I be racist. I just want a country that protects the Guyanese East Indian cultural and human rights.

So you want more coolies than blacks? What do you plan to do with the blacks?

They will be integrated into a non-racist society where the true cultures of  Africa are seen as the norm.

โ€˜Fโ€™ Division commander to act as Crime Chief

-as Blanhum proceeds on leave.

September 13,2017 Source

Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum has proceeded on accumulated leave from yesterday and Senior Superintendent of Police Ravindradat Budhram will be acting in his post until December.

Acting Commissioner of Police David Ramnarine yesterday confirmed to Stabroek News that Budhram, who has been Commander of โ€˜Fโ€™ Division for a number of years, will be acting Crime Chief.

Wendell Blanhum

Deputy Crime Chief Rishi Dass, who was appointed to the position earlier this year, is presently on sick leave. This newspaper was told that Dass has written to Ramnarine and Blanhum requesting removal from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). However, several efforts made to confirm this proved futile.

Ravindradat Budhram

Ramnarine said Senior Superintendent Edmond Cooper, who served as Deputy Commander of โ€˜Bโ€™ Division, will be filling in as Commander of โ€˜Fโ€™ Division.

Stabroek News was reliably informed that Blanhum had requested to proceed on leave since July but was unable to do so after the July 9 Camp Street jailbreak.

Blanhum, who is currently on 90 days of accumulated leave, is expected to return to his office in December before the holiday season begins.

Here you go Mits.

Looks like Wendell Blanhum, will be on the job, that's good.

You people love to argue. If this was a black taking the place of an Indian..war start. Now an Indian taking the place of a black..we see its because he was doing a fine job catching drug mules so war start. Now we read it's only for a few months. So when the black comes back and the Indian is removed will there be another war..just for the hell of it?

So these non Indians have a choice to be Hindus in this fantasy country of yours? Why can't they just be themselves? Listen up old man, there will be no division amongst the people of the Republic. There will be no carving out of no homeland for Indians, Africans or anyone else for that matter. The Republic of Guyana is and will remain a nation of six races regardless of who say what.

I don't trust the articles published by that Guyana Guardian website. On many occasions they turn out to be fake news.
