Female patient jumps to death at GPHC

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Thirty – seven – year old Shaneeza Farouk jumped to her death from the fourth floor of the female ward of the Georgetown Public Hospital on Friday evening (January 23).

The incident occurred at about 20:35 hrs. Nurses who witnessed the incident did not reach to save her in time. Farouk of West Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara was being treated for Chronic Renal Failure.

After jumping, she was rushed to the accident and emergency unit where doctors pronounced her dead. Her family was contacted and broke down in tears at the Hospital after learning of her death.

It is still unclear as to what caused the woman to take her own life.
