When these things happen the whole country suffers. It is important that every political party has sound democratic processes. Through each of these political systems the assets of citizens are safe guarded. Today, the whole country losses. Even the AFC, as new as it is, is a combination of the PPP and PNC-they too are in chaos.

It in their DNA, they were born as riggers, they will die as riggers.

AFC better stay far, far away from these democracy rapist.

Explain how the PPP selects its leaders?  I also recall some issues with the AFC.

It doesn't appear as if ANY of the parties can claim innocence here.  The only drama is the PNV and A gun shot.  But it wasn't a shoot out as the PPP will like to pretend.  Indeed its the laziness of the PNC why more is spoken about the violence meted out by PPP ministers (one even pistol whipping, another driving drunk and involved in a hit and run).

Clarissa Riehl is an ex-magistrate, a lady with a fine legal and logical mind.

Ms Riehl knows she can stand up on the open streets and criticize her Party leaders in front tape recorders and video cameras and note takers, and she will not be kicked out of the PNC. That is democracy.

Can any disgruntled PPP member do the same?

Do you believe Ms Riehl will leave the PNC and join the PPP?

Wally, it's only a matter of time before the Rev is publicly disrobed as an imposter and a knave. He prappa wutliss bad.

Rev's political philosophy is simple and predictable: No matter how much the PPP corrupt and undemocratic, no Cuffy must rule Guyana again.

Clarissa Riehl doesn't subscribe to Rev's philosophy. She said she would have voted for Norton over Granger; one Cuffy to replace another according to Rev's thinking.

What is a lawyer for? To defend Jesus Christ and Mother Mary or Mother Laxhmie?

Do you think before you comment sometimes?

Defence lawyers' jobs are to defend people charged with breaking the law. Are you suggesting that a PPP suspect is presumed innocent and a PNC suspect is presumed guilty automatically?

You may have to replace the PNC above with PPP!

Lets be clear, I do not like this fellow. He is there as Romatar, by default given rigid "old boys" party structure. He has no personality for bringing people together and has as much charisma as a rag doll.

The PPP is however so disgustingly corrupt and racist that Black people have no other option but to stay home with this truly uninspiring fellow.

The AFC has an obligation not to join up with either of these two party. They must remain the balance between the corrupt and diseased PPP and the insipid and uninspiring PNC.

Danyael, yesterday I spoke with a top AFC leader by phone and he assured me that the AFC has no intention to join up with APNU.

Whenever elections are called the AFC will wage its own campaign as in 2011 and 2006.

It just shows how sordid Guyana politics is that if the President or the Leader of the opposition dialogue with each other, some one will accuse one or the other of selling out.

In a mature democracy each party will respect the fact that other parties have constituencies which supported them, and each has to be given the right to represent the interests of these constitencies, and the only way that this can work is if all groups dialogue in good faith.

But Guyanese are too immature to understand this, which is why only Haiti beats us in its poverty death spiral.  And like Haitians, Guyanese are hated throught the Caribbean because they bring with them the stench of poverty and desperation.
