Wow, isn’t this like the old PNC days in Guyana?  I guess we will survive, thanks to father burnham and the life lessons he taught us.

Someone referenced called burnham psychosis...are you sure you are not afflicted?

This was posted for serious contemplation on the fragility of our existence and not on some lowly insignificant brute who may or may not  impacted us in our youth. I hardly ever think of Burnham except to reference a path not to be taken politically. I also do not distinguish him from Cheddi even if cheddi was the fool with good intention whose courtship of communism also sent us on a the wrong trajectory.

Again. this is to illustrate how fragile existence is and how we should nurture what time we have. One of these will hit us in time. It is a matter of probability and  it is high.

The earth has experienced extinction before. It is only a matter of time before it happens again. This has nothing to do with religion or so. I am all for another extinction. The world is too corrupted. It is time for another civilization to come forth. Maybe a million years from now it can happen

We do not have that long. If we did have that long to perpare we would be spread all over the solar system and have explorer crafts out into the universe to distant stars. Unfortunately, we have a mere few hundred years if that many and if we continue on our present path of taking up all the habitable space and killing all other creatures that share the planet.

Coronal mass ejection. If it happens and we are in its path it is to the stone age we go. All electronics on the planet would be fried....no electricity, no computers, no cars etc and in a few days mass hysteria and a post apocalyptic universe.

The earth changes every so many millions years from the same ingredients that sustain life can also destroy it. A small amount of solar flares that reaches earth have proven to affect power grids across its path. That said, the sun is only one of the heavenly danger we ought to worry about. Humans are examples of the earth with the shortest lifespan. We born, we die, and the cycle continues until the earth cannot sustain life anymore.
