The Ministry of Agriculture will be redoubling its efforts to promote improved farming techniques.

This is according to the Agriculture Minister Dr. Leslie Ramsammy who is of the view that the time has come for farmers to improve their productivity.

And to do this, the traditional farming techniques he says will not suffice.

Minister Ramsammy noted that the agriculture sector is an integral contributor to the local economy.

However he feels that farmers are not given the recognition they deserve.

The Minister was at the time speaking at the launching of agriculture month.

The activities were ushered in with an interfaith ceremony today in the ministry’s compound.

"Potential" in not reality.  After 20 years, is it the most positive spin you can put on the PPP offerings?
