In 1947, I witnessed India's Independence Celebration at Albion Front.

In 1957, I witnessed Ghana's Independence Celebration in Rosignol.

In 1966, many of my countrymen went to bed, caring very little at the stroke of the midnight hour when British Guiana became Guyana.

Fascinated with the first black Caribbean country to be independent-I read just about everything on Haiti.

Fascinated by Marcus Garvey's visit to British Guiana, I would read Ethiopia.

At the stroke of midnight, my country shall dream a dream as never before.

Discarding 65 years of ideologies. Foreign to us.

Our journey begins towards a path, a unique path of Guyanese.

We shall celebrate.

I believe.

God Bless Us.

Regardless of who wins tomorrow or whatever day, Guyanese will go on with their lives as they have always done. If they struggle, they will continue to struggel. If they are rich and prosper, they will continue to be rich. The poor 99% will always be the minority regardless of the PPP or PNC

Skelly, with all due respect, the poor must not be allowed to remain as they are. If they are, Guyana will continue to destroy itself and the most important resource:The people, will continue to deteriorate.

We were at heads with BBP, where youth suicide remain the highest in all Guyana. Diaspora's assistance with prevention programs will only continue with a government, where greed and corruption don't exist.
