Ok folks,

We cannot cry over spilt milk.

It is what it is and those of us who are around 50 or older have experienced what a dictatorship can do to a nation.

We now have to look beyond Jagdeo. You see, Jagdeo can still act in his capacity as opposition leader given his experience but that is where it ends until a consensus candidate is elected.

Guyana now needs a broad based untied non ethnic force to confront the Monster Granger and given Jagdeo's past, he is not the fit and proper leader to lead such a coalition. This is something that Jagdeo and the PPP need to acknowledge as soon as possible.

He can lead the charge temporarily until a replacement leader and consensus candidate is elected. Jagdeo has to step down as opposition leader within the next six months to allow for the nation to galvanize around the new leader and to build confidence going forward into 2020.

This will be a very tough struggle with Ramjattan and the AFC leadership now supporting Granger's croney as GECOM head.

This must not be about race, religion or class. This has to be what is good for the future of Guyana.

Any consensus candidates ?

That stinking MONSTER is WORST than Mughabe. Remember he killed the Ballot Box victims in 1973 and was the enforcer for Bunham for 28 years.. I say take him to the World Court for Genocide!!!

Bhai,

The GDF truck stopped in front of  our house in Guyana in 1973 and I can still hear the victim begging for water as they kicked him to death. It still rings in my ears to this day.

The battle is 100 times bigger now with oil money involved.

The PPP needs to look at a new leader in order to attract a broad based, non ethnic coalition. It is time that Guyana move beyond race based politics.

Exactly. Granger may have done more damage to himself inadvertently. His votes came from the PNC diehards and people who wanted change, courtesy of Jagdeo. Given Granger's moves so far, if Jagdeo resigns from politics, a lot of votes will return. I say resign because as long as he is involved with the PPP, people will be skeptical. That's the only solution I can see right now.

Politics in Guyana will always be about the PNC and the PPP.  Like it or not.  Every time a third force comes into play, the PNC as the weaker of the two parties turns out to be the beneficiary.  Guyana's population is too small for a third force.

I honestly am not promoting a third force. I am in support of a broad based united front coalition government.

Race, religion and class are no longer needed in Guyana's politics.

I am proposing an Afro Guyanese to lead the PPP into a broad based political coalition. The PPP needs to act fast.

I agree whole heartedly.

I am also proposing a broad based PPP coalition with an Afro Guyanese or Guyanese of mixed decent to lead the PPP in a coalition in 2020.

Granger may have done himself some political damage.

Jagdeo has to go as soon as possible. The PPP needs to do the honourable thing and put country above race and selfish political motives.

Told you already Nigel Hughes, but you all don't like self confident blacks who will be vocal about PPP racism, so he isn't going to be one who you like.

Some Uncle Tom Negro isn't going to work.  Once Jagdeo is around blacks will panic with the notion of him winning so aren't going to trust a stooge.

Hughes comes with his own young support base. And yes this group is highly angered by Granger and an 84 year old just rubs the salt deeper into the wound.

Take a look right here. When was the last time so many of us agreed on the same thing?

You can put an Indian to lead the PNC and Indians will consider him a stooge. Putting some unknown black token to head the PPP will not impress.

Just as how the PNC had to "disappear" into APNU the PPP will also have to become "invisible".

Jagdeo thinks that he owns the PPP and most PPP folks behave like house slaves so will not remove him.

You want a united front, well Jagdeo will have to leave the PPP ENTIRELY and be barred from entering Freedom House and attending meetings of the PPP executive.
