Asha Bhosle and Ganpatrao Bhosle -

Asha Bhosle was 16 years old when she fell in love with Ganpatrao Bhosle who was nearly 31 years of age and worked as Lata Mangeshkar's personal secretary. The family was not in support of this relationship and thus they duo eloped and got married. Sadly it did not last very long and Asha ran back home after a few years. She later got married to renowned music composer R.D. Burman in 1980.

Sohail Khan and Seema Sachdev

Sohail and seema fell for each other and there was obvious opposition from the family due to religious differences. In 1998 the duo eloped and got married and in Sohail made his directorial debut with the film titled Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya.

Bindiya Goswami and JP Dutta

Bindiya Goswami was married to actor Vinod Mehra when she discovered that he was already married before with another woman and that relationship ened. She soon fell for film director J.P. Dutta and the duo eloped to get married.

Padmini Kolhapure and Pradeep Sharma

After working together on the film Aisa Pyaar Kahan, Padmini and producer Pradeep came really close and fell in love. Padmini’s family did not support her in this relationship and the duo ran off in 1986 and got hitched. Today they are happily married and have a son Priyank.

Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh

There was so much against their getting together, but it did not stop them from it. With a 12 years age gap, difference in religion and opposition from their families they weren’t left with many choices but to elope. They got married in 1991 but 13 years later they fell apart in 2004.

Shashi Kapoor and Jennifer Kendal

Sahshi Kapoor met Jennifer when they both practiced theatre and fell in love in 1956. Their decision to get married was opposed by Jennifer’s father and she eloped from her homeland and came to Mumbai. They got married in 1958 and Jennifer sadly passed away in 1984 due to cancer.

Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta

They were next door neighbors and as soon as Aamir turned 21 he popped the marriage question to Reena. There was much opposition from her family and the duo ran off and got married in 1986. Love faded away and they sadly parted ways in 2002.

Shammi Kapoor and Geeta Bali

Shammi Kapoor fell in love with Geeta Bali and after four months of trying to convince her to get married he faced a major dilemma. Shammi Kapoor was a year younger to his Rangeela co star and thought his family would not agree to the marriage. They therefore eloped and got married in Bangara Temple in Mumbai in 1955.
