"Animal agriculture is choking the Earth, and the longer we turn a blind eye, the more we limit our ability to nourish ourselves, protect waterways and habitats, and pursue other uses of our precious natural resources. Raising livestock for meat, eggs and milk generates 14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions, the second highest source of emissions and greater than all transportation combined. It also uses about 70% of agricultural land, and is one of the leading causes of deforestation, biodiversity loss, and water pollution." SOURCE

Gil,

I am making a very tiny contribution in protecting the environment. In fact, if every person abstain from eating animals one day per week, it would make a HUGE contribution towards saving our environment.

Every person has a morale obligation to save and protect the environment for the next generation.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle is also very important. Buy products with packaging that can be recycled and let companies know that their excessive packaging are unacceptable.

I encourage everyone to start a recycling programme at home, ensure that the least amount of products end up at a waste site. Mother earth will thank you for your caring.

We can all make a valuable contribution in saving and protecting the environment in every possible way for future generations. There is no need to become radical environmentalists, we just need to become friends of the environment.

I do some of these...go without meat one day per week, but tough   Most places here we get a ticket if we put out our garbage and don't recycle. I think the younger generation are so much more conscious in protecting the environment than their parents.

Gil,

If I may add, Thanks to Brother Cain for taking care of the environment.

Thanks dude. Unfortunately our govt need to do more on recycling. The millions of coffee cups being used are not recycled so are those Kruger coffee packets. These items should be banned.

I'm looking into recycling old car tires into art/craft after my move and able to spend more time on me for a change.
