Granger says one thing but does another.

Dear Editor,

When you listen to President Granger’s messages to the nation, they are extremely cryptic, so much so that only the expert can decipher his tone, which ranges from didactic to plain old empty sloganeering.  But all of these empty lofty messages are worthless since they fail to reconcile with the public actions of his administration, especially on public sector appointments.  The majority of public sector appointments since this Granger team arrived in the presidential complex illustrate a persistent attitude that could only produce a schism in our society. In simple terms, Mr Granger and his team say one thing but are doing a completely different thing. They continue to make a grand mockery of the whole concept of social cohesion and national unity. This is public hypocrisy of the worst order.

I have had cause to look at the pictures showing the training of Dr Clive Thomas’s new asset recovery agents. Is this picture a fair reflection of all our peoples?  Is this the new Guyana under President Granger?

History has already taught us that those who tried to pursue this bigoted path in the 1970s and 1980s failed miserably.  You cannot build the nation by rejecting half of that nation.

Unfortunately, the damage from these Granger-led actions has already started to bear fruit as the state of the economy continues to regress.  So why is Mr Granger this dogmatic and shortsighted? Our nation is woven with many threads, not only the green and yellow ones. Thus, I urge President Granger to take a more balanced approach that can be seen as pro-Guyana, pro-people rather than this totally irresponsible path that seems to be wedded to an ideology of β€œkith and kin”.  The only outcome would be that societal damage to the nation will be irreparable in the short term.  Mr Granger will be long gone when the nation will be stuck the damage his administration is causing.

I am aware that the AFC leaders are now either fully fledged PNC members/ apologists or just plain toothless poodles, and thus nothing of substance can be expected from them.  But I am expecting civil society, especially the churches, to reflect on these anti-Guyanese actions of the Granger administration.  The reality is all lives matter.

Yours faithfully,
Sase Singh

No matter how they try to rebrand or. To spin, they will remain irrelevant. They failed to realize that you only get one chance to make a good first impression. They blew it with the 50 percent raise. Now they are dead ducks because of their advice to Granger to make a unilateral decision on the chairmanship of GECOM, their support for that act, and now the info that came out indicAting  that they lied to the Guyanese people when they said that they were not involved in the decision.

it is only the AFC ministers and local government councillors, those who are getting a financial return on their political investment, those who are still hoping for jobs or material benefits that remain members.  Their promise that they will hold Granger and the pnc from committing excesses was just blowing in the wind. If the  AFC ministers and MP talk too much,  he can just sack them and replace them with PNC members.

I am not surprised at what is happening.  The PNC is what it is will always be that way.  We keep indicting the Jagans and the PPP for being ideologically far and corrupt, but we suddenly forgot  about the horrible and anti-democratic nature of the PNC. This party has never won an election on its own.  They have always used violence to achieve their ends . The recent unilateral appointment of the  chairman of GECOM has come under heavy criticism.  One of the biggest questions on my mind and my fellow Guyanese is would the US ignore rigged elections in Guyana this time around?

One hundred percent.

We need to look and listen to get a better understanding of the situation.

Remember that the U.S ambassador boldly declared that Granger was acting in accordance with the constitution while he was stalling in naming a GECOM head. This was the green light for Granger to make his unilateral decision in naming a GECOM head and he pounced on it.

Oil brings corruption and the oil Tycoons realize that the PNC are idiots, easily manipulated, corrupt and they fit the perfect profile for a dictatorship that they can prop up as long as oil flows.

I recently watch a show on Netflix called "Fixing Capitalism" That was an eye opener.

PNC recently appointed "one of their own" commissioners recently. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is a duck.

The firing of Seelall should be a stark reminder of the Evil actions of the PNC. What is funny is that they are using Ramjattan as their new footstool in conduction and executing their dirty work.

Moses is also performing well in his capacity as PNC's Congress Place yard dog, much better than any yard dog in PNC's history.
