Emotional pictures that show nation's love for Princess Diana is still strong 20 years after her tragic death

Members of the public have been laying tributes at the gates of Kensington Palace today, paying their respects to the 'People's Princess

People have been laying flowers and leaving cards in tribute to the 'people's Princess, two decades after she was killed in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997.

She was too beautiful to let her life be dictated by the royal family. Even though she is gone, she leaves her two sons that may take the throne some day. I read an article that the Royal family planned her death to make it look like an accident, fearing she may embarrass the family if she is seen with another man in public. I don't know if there is any truth to the story.

Always remembered.  There is a great article published today about the story of a firefighter who was one of the first responders on the scene.  He was the last person who spoke to Diana.  RIP.

Always remembered.  I remembered exactly where I was in Schaffhausen, Switzerland when the story broke...I ran to the TV thinking it was a hoax!
