Let’s Not Lose Our Hopes With Ashutosh Gowariker

Not everybody can be a proud creator of colossally impactful cinema like Lagaan, Swades and Jodha Akbar. Ashutosh Gowariker has been a pinnacle figure in the modern century of filmmakers and doubting his abilities would be undermining promising cinema. Yes he has seemed to have been a little out of touch lately but that’s not something that should come in the way of expecting quality cinema from him again. Despite all the odds, he still is a filmmaker we can totally depend on.

A Valiant Attempt

Basing a fictional take on world’s first civilization with own cinematic sensibilities isn’t really an easy task for anybody to pull off, which is exactly what makes Mohenjo Daro a brave cinematic attempt. With a new female face and a backdrop that has had no earthly business in the film industry before, it’s a risk Gowariker has sportingly taken on. If anything we’ll get to watch through this piece of cinema is new locales, an unexplored era and a fresh story.

Hrithik Roshan

Very rarely has Hrithik Roshan disappointed with his infirmity of handling a character and that restores all the faith we have in him. With Mohenjo Daro, he gets an opportunity to shed out his best again and be expressive enough to drive us through an era that we haven’t seen before. Hrithik is due for a magical performance for a long time and this big screen prospect gives him the opportunity to spread his arms again. We’ve seen the bit of it in the trailer, let’s see what we have in store for us on August 12^th.

Mohenjo Daro's Motion Poster Promises Another Ashutosh Gowariker Masterpiece!

Mohenjo Daro’s motion poster has been unveiled—and with that brief first-look, we are excited.

To be honest, Ashutosh Gowariker’s film hasn’t always been high on our priority list this year. What with all the wrestling films and sports biopics hogging our attention this year, the epic romance story has, at times, faded in the background.

But funny how a 57-second clip can change your perception.

So far we knew all this about the film: Starring Hrithik Roshan and newcomer Pooja Hegde, Mohenjo Daro will be set in the city of Mohenjo-daro in the time Indus Valley Civilisation. Indus Valley Civilisation, if you google it, is an era before the birth of Christ. Between 3300 BC and 1300 BC to be exact.

The basic plot of the film, according to reports, is about the protagonist (Hrithik Roshan) who falls in love with his enemy's daughter (Pooja Hegde) who is a dancer.

Without revealing anything about the story, the film’s motion poster sets up the ancient era of Indus Valley Civilisation. A.R. Rahman’s mystical background score can also be heard towards the end.
