Prices are crazy now, a bubble for sure. Not a good time to buy, you should wait for the gold price to drop and the economy to come back down to earth if you want to buy in the Georgetown area.  People are calling some ridiculous prices due to Chinese and business people acquiring land. For instance in a 120 by 50 lot in some parts of GT going for 100Million GY, $500K US. Look at the classified in the local newspapers online to get an idea. You can also engage the local real estate agencies.

Thanks BGurd_See
I actually realized the housing bubble the Brazilean and Chinese causing currently in Georgetown. I really hope to find a property mainly in Bel Air Park, Queenstown, Kingston or Subryanville. Some how I am not getting access to the classified adds in the Guyana Chronicle newspaper online. Currently I am living in Santiago Chile, so only Guyana Chronicle and the other newspapers online I can get access to.
I will explore how to access the classified add section fully
Thanks again

I am currently doing my doctorate (PhD) in Innovation Management at the Pontificial Catholic University of Chile. and lives in Macul Santiago Chile.

And you want to get back to Guyana so soon?? With that kind of qualification you would be far too overqualified as a canecutter or ricefarmer. And then you are also facing the prospect of living in a big waterpools every time the sea floods Georgetown.

Good luck with your studies. We wanted to visit the winery in Macul but went driving up the Andes. By the time we got back, it was too late.
I will PM Gerard Ramsaroop who comes here and see if he can help you.

Hi Mr T.
Thanks for your insightful advice
I guess someone like you would of definately sell out your property if you had or have one in Guyana.
If you have one or know of a person as such that have a property in the area i am inquiring about (Bel Air Park, Kingston, Subryanville, even Bel Air Springs) and willing to sell it, please let me know.
I would even guess they will sell it out cheap knowing what a place Guyana is...
Thanks once again
Yours Gratefully

I would stay away from Kingston, it has an 'inner city' feel........and flood risk. A friend sold his house at Prashad Nagar for 65M a few month ago (30ft*50ft), and it was not in impeccable condition. The land there is fairly big (50*100ft). If you have the time and resources, the best idea is to buy land and build a house of your liking. Many of the houses for sale are over 10 years old and not too 'modern' in design. There are nice areas on the East Coast that have land for sale, like: Happy Acres (land 12m), or Earl's Court (9M) where you can live quietly and have little stress travelling to the city.

Hi Alex
Thanks for the information. Who own those land in Happy Acre? Mekdeci?
Actually since I am out the Country and don't have the time to deal with building contractor / building arrangement. I am looking for an easy option to have a house and land (property) mainly in the city as a first buy.

there are various private citizens owning land/house in Happy Acres. i doubt Mekdeci is selling land there. the best option for you is to contact an agent, because you are not on the ground. I saw an ad in the Stabroek News about a property in prashad nagar for $45m. If you are interested I will post the number and email.
