Sonam Kapoor is all set to play the young, free-spirited and courageous flight purser, Neerja Bhanot, who sacrificed her life on 5th September 1986 when the Pan Am Flight 73 was hijacked by four armed men. The real story of Neerja
The cock-pit crew of the flight fled on the alert and being the senior most attendant on board, Neerja took the charge. The terrorists were on the lookout for Americans and knowing this, Bhanot and her crew cleverly hid the passports of all the American passengers. She fought for 17 hours straight and opened the emergency door for the passengers to escape when the attackers open fired. In a bid to save the lives of three childrens, Neerja was shot dead by the terrorists.
