Chief might deny that his Indian ancestors were once Hindus. Many Guyanese Muslims live in that denial. But, for the record, I must point out that not all Muslim conversions occurred at the tip of a sword. Many Hindus, particularly from the oppressed lower castes and the outcastes, voluntarily converted to Islam and were happier afterward.
