In fact Jagdeo has done a lot of screaming aimed at engendering racial panic. The whole rhetoric of the issues of Guysuco, which were created by the PPP, being made into a deliberate plot to starve Indians. In fact the very issue with black farmers, vendors, etc., could have been used by Jagdeo to indicate that APNU isn't in favor of any ethnic group. That its a narrowly elitist group disinterested in the needs of any outside of its narrow bourgeois circles.
Instead Jagdeo uses every chance, including that of the land issue to foster anti black attitudes among non blacks. The issue of the land is about people not having proper land tenure because of the fact that land owner laws were changed in the 19th century to undermine the Free Villages and no one addressed the issues that it raised in terms of land tenure. And Burnham is as guilty of this as any. When last I checked I didn't notice that blacks had any interest in running to snatch land from Amerindians in the Rupununi or in the Northwest.
Eric Phillips' comments were that land issues for Africans have the same validity that land issues for Amerindians has. Yet this is ignored. Now one can disagree with his claims but to scream that he wants to take away land from the Amerindians is a pure attempt by Jagdeo to establish an alliance of the "straight hairs" against blacks. This being a tactic of the PPP in the last election, and has become even more evident since then.
YOU lack credibility because of your continuous refusal to admit to the existence of racism among Indians towards blacks.
Jagdeo has become a cynical anti black racist and even some Indians are now beginning to see this. Ironically had Jagdeo not run a racially alarmist campaign last time the PPP would most likely have won. But his racist screaming scared out a large black and mixed vote in south G/T, Linden and Bartica where turnout was at near record levels, with much of a previous hidden non voting youth population showing up to vote.
A non racist Jagdeo would focus on the fact that APNU has a very classist approach to governing and that non elite Africans, despite being its support base, have been abused as have others who aren't part of the APNU base. But he doesn't. His entire screams is "we gun tek back Guyana for us" this having defined the PPP as an Indian party.
Jagdeo is now as much an obnoxiously racist creature as is Ravi Dev.
