It is not practical for the law abiding Muslims to change the actions of the one determined on evil actions. By your own observation above, "We all know that the majority of Muslims are good people and the bad rap comes from the actions of just a few comparatively" the actions of the good Muslims gets out-shadowed by that of the lesser numbered evil Muslims.

I would beg to differ. Let us take the Jews as an example. How did they change the negative perception from the Hitler days when no one cared that Hitler was marching them to the gas chambers in the millions? Today if a Jew is harmed it becomes headline news with sympathy from all quarters.

That is because of peoples' guilt of the holocaust. Even today, whenever Israel does something that would definitely earn them global condemnation, they quickly invoke the holocaust memorial to temper the reaction. Muslims don't generally ask for pity. They demand rights. I would suggest they demand those rights too vociferously to their general detriment. They should just chill a bit.
