Sears struggling for years there are predictions the will be gone ,online shopping killing retail stores.
My repair business r@ss is dying,used to be good in the olden days,too much Chinese junk in the market,lucky for me i will be semi retire soon.
Not so much the cheap chinese junk rather than the pace of technology. Its a waste of time repairing dated electronics when the consumer can purchase new with updated technology. Its a shame though, many skilled jobs are now obsolete, electronics repair etc. I remember back in the day when you would take a boom box for repair and the technician would replace the IC chips etc. Those days are gone.
Planned obsolescence. Electronic goods are manufactured deliberately to conk out after a certain time. Like bread, they have a Best Before date and an Expiry Date. Unwritten, of course.
