Anil is hoping that it isn't retroactive.

Its this simple. Theft is wrong. So if he stole he will face some degree of punishment. How much depends on the evidence that is provided. Mightn't be enough for jail. Might be enough for asset seizure.

But what Anil is really saying is that his liquid assets are stashed away in Panama (he made good use of the COPA flight) and so Clive cannot take it.
