Here is the reality druggie. Few women enter prostitution as a choice. They get trapped into it. In Guyana its RURAL women seeking work in urban areas, or outside of Guyana. Which group account for the bulk of the rural women in Guyana?
The urban women are already in town and so its easier for them to seek job opportunities there. In addition the very patriarchal structure of rural Indian families forces many women to flee if they wish some control over their lives. Then they fall prey to the sex traffickers.
Black women have more autonomy over their lives because they come out of a matriarchal society.
